If thats true, i expect its due to the different chemicals in diet coke. If you add salt to water, ice melts quicker in it. I expect its the same phenomenon.

maby because of the salt, but if not all because of the salt, maby because the aspartame (aspartame is a chemical that attacks the nervouse system and eats away your brain. if aspartame exceeds over 86 degrees F. it turns into the same chemical comepound found in fire ant poison. very deadly stuff) do not drink any diet soda or eat/drink anything that says sugarfree unless it DOES NOT CONTAIN ASPARTAME!! aspartame is deadly even if it doesn't turn into poision. it also can lead to blindness, weakness in the legs, short memory, and brain damage, and more
