Sushi Rice Recipe
INGREDIENTS:
3 cups Japanese-style rice
3 1/4 cups water
1/3 cup rice wine vinegar
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
PREPARATION:
After washing the rice well, cook it by pan or rice cooker. Prepare sushi vinegar (sushi-zu) by mixing rice vinegar, sugar and salt in a small pan.
Put the pan on low heat and cook until the sugar dissolves. Cool the vinegar mixture. Spread the cooked hot rice into a large plate (if you have it, use a wooden bowl called sushi-oke) by spatula. Sprinkle the vinegar mixture over the rice and fold the rice by shamoji very quickly. Be careful not to smash the rice. To cool and remove the moisture of the rice well, use a fan as you mix sushi rice. This will give sushi rice a shiny look. It's best to use it right away.
Makes 6 cups of sushi rice.

"Sushi" as Americans know it is generally rolled. This is called Maki. Maki isn't very popular in Japan. In Nihon, "sushi" is usually nigiri ( a ball of sushi and a piece of fish on top). Sashimi (just fish) is also an option, but I don't think that is what you want here. The ladies here have supplied some very good recipes for the rice portion. They are right.. the rice is very very very important... so if you are going to make very good rice.. you need to have some delicious fish... go with the Torro.... everyone loves Fatty Tuna

you need to buy Japanese rice, sugar, water, salt, vinegar
cook the rice as per normal, in a rice cooker
Prepare sushi vinegar (sushi-zu) by mixing rice vinegar, sugar and salt in a pan. Put the pan on low heat and cook until the sugar dissolves, let it cool
Spread the cooked hot rice into a large plate (if you have it, use a wooden bowl called sushi-oke) by spatula
Sprinkle the vinegar mixture over the rice and fold the rice by shamoji very quickly. Be careful not to smash the rice.
To cool and remove the moisture of the rice well, use a fan as you mix sushi rice. This will give sushi rice a shiny look.
The sushi rice is ready! It's best to use it right away.

to make a delicious sushi, you will possibly desire to have the rice first, you may't no longer have that, then get seaweed. i individually love whilst there is only cucumber in the sushi, and whilst there are issues in it that i do in comparison to, i in basic terms throw it away. returned with the subject count. anyhow, the least complicated way is to take one piece of seaweed, then placed one blob of rice in the midsection, then on perfect some products of cucumber. Then roll it up and luxuriate in!
