The current version is 6.
However there is a beta version out at the moment which is IE 7. and downloadable from microsoft download centre.

This isn't a direct answer, but you should ditch Internet Explorer and move to Firefox. The United States' Computer Emergency Readiness Team even cautioned consumers to avoid Internet Explorer.

The current version of Internet Explorer is version 6 SP2.
But, soon to be out will be Internet Explorer 7....but as of current version 7 is still in Beta (testing) state.
Even still, I like IE7 much better than IE6...(Tabbed browsing, etc) You have to have SP2 installed to run it though...

For winxp IE 6.
microsoft is redy with IE 7 gonna release sometime time later. rightnow its in beta 3 stage for customer site review. once done without any issue, u are there to get IE 7 :-)
