Chicken was always considered the "white meat."

A restaurant chain advertised a few years ago: "pork, the OTHER white meat!"

Which led to the infamous line in the "Austin Powers" movie from "Fat Bastard" when he shouted: "BABIES, the OTHER, other white meat!"

Red meat is FULL OF FAT and will eventually kill you if you eat too much of it. Generally speaking, when purchased from a grocery store it is also filled with anibiotics and growth hormones which is linked to early puberty and antibiotic resistance in humans. Nasty stuff.

Really great alternatives to red meat would be Ostrich or Emu.

We eat Morning Star and avoid the issue all together.

If you must eat red meat, eat organic.

White meat is like chicken, pork, turkey. It is leaner and over-all healthier. Still, organic, if you can afford it, is always better. Free range chicken is the best.

People are only supposed to consume meat roughly twice a week. A full serving of meat is roughly the size of your palm.

ok, red meat is from lamb, beef, ostrich, most wild game. red meat, when talking about mammals, is higher in protein and is higher in fat. but there are good and bad fats. white meat is chicken, pork, and most of your fishes. the bad thing about the chicken is that the gov't allows it to be injected with up to a 25% solution for extra weight. this solution may have extra hormones and antibiotics in it. while pork is considered a hot food. that means your body can't digest it fully in your stomach. so as it passes through your intestines it rots giving off toxins. veal is also a cow, but is considered a white meat. though i'm not a doctor, i am a butcher.
