I'm 23.I delivered my daughter Laura when I was very young, just 14.Now she is 9.Maybe many of you won't consider it as a 'problem' but Laura is very smart,clever...I don't know how to describe it.She is going well at school but when watching crime movies or talking with her father(he is 29,works as a coroner) about crimes she usually find out things that nobody else(her father or his collegues) could ever notice. In fact what Laura find usually helps for solving the cases.Once her dad showed her some pictures of a crime scene and after a minute she asked about a little detail which noone else had noticed. After her father saw the detail and talked to his chief, the case(considered as 'unsolveable') was solved. My husband's chief even wanted to talk with Laura to find out what does she do to understand murders.I don't know how did she became so...good in this kind of...'job' but I don't think it's normal. What do you think?

congratdulations! Its nothing to worry about, its actually a good sign. Just make sure she doesn't loose that touch by guiding her da right path. I know a lota smart kids that end up loosing it when they get older.

Have you had Laura's IQ tested? She may amongst the special children that leave us standing! If she is indeed a genius (you would be so proud eh?) then she needs to be in classes that cater for her high level of intellectual capabilities. Talk to her teachers and have her tested. Good for you, but she must be stimulated in her own class - she would get very bored and uncooperative if she had nothing that challenged her intellect.
Bravo Laura.

Having gifted & talented children in advanced curriculums - and 2 geniuses...there's only one thing that I can tell you.
Let your daughter be what she wants to be. A smart kid will make smart choices. She'll do what she finds to be interesting, and seek it out.
There are curriculums done by colleges, and tests that they can take when they reach middle/high school age. My son has been asked to partake in these tests every year, because his G&T teachers forward the info to the top universities. But, I haven't done this yet, because I don't feel it's necessary.

I think you need to give your daughter credit for natural talent......either that or teach her to be a child she is only 9, what is she doing having anything to do crime of any kind even if her father is a coroner.

Its nice that she is helping, but I'd be careful what type of crime pictures and cases she is looking at. No need to scar her by letting her see grisly dead bodies and horrible crimes. Irregardless of intellect, she is a child. Protect your child.

unlikely (in the two case)! yet why might 'passing for usual' be a objective in existence? countless the individuals who claimed they have been 'standard' that i've got ever met have been rather freaky of their very own top... Later Daze! =)

so she has a gift, it obviously isn't normal, but it's not bad either. who want's to be "normal" anyways? She's highly intuitive, you should encourage her, she just might grow up to be highly influential and help all of mankind or something. Stop freaking, you should be happy.
