Yes you can, you will probably need antibiotics first to control the infection, an x-ray to check the root structure (use a lead apron) or wait on the x-ray til after 12th week. The anesthetic will not take if an infection is present. I had my tooth crowned when I was pregnant because it cracked, had x-ray and anesth. My daughter is 12 and just fine!

Hi there. It is fine to have a tooth pulled during pregnancy as there is no evidence to say that dental anaesthetics are harmful to unborn babies. The only things not recommended during pregnancy are silver mercury fillings and dental x-rays before 12 weeks. Many dentists will not take x-rays at all during pregnancy but it is thought to be safe after 12 weeks as you are not exposed to massive amounts of radiation.
Also due to the infection caused by an abcess I recommend that you go get it treated as soon as possible to save any infection possibly being passed onto your baby.

A dental anaesthetic will work if infection is present but you may just require a little more than the usual dose if it is highly infected as the pus inside the gum can occassionally make it harder to numb.

I used to worked for a dentist for 6 years and we treated many pregnant women.

Good luck to you.

Yes, but you need to tell the dentist that your pregnant. He will probably prescribe some antibiotics until it is no longer abscessed and then be able to work on it. How do i know? It happened to my daughter. Hope I helped.

Yes!

Local anesthetic won't hurt the baby. Get it done and end your pain!

Good luck on the pregnancy!!
