It is hard to meet people where I live so I had to meet my BF on match.com even though we grew up 2 blocks away from eachother, I worked with his sister, knew tons of people who knew his father and did judo with his best friend.

How do you meet people you date? Once I got out of college it got really hard.

I have been with my BF for 2 years and I really love him.

Yeah it is better than stealing the sig other of a friend which is what some people do. My BF and I think that is insestious and not good. We think it is better not to be dating other peoples mates and just to look on our own and date outside of the inner circle.

I was in a bad relationship (very abusive), and I was in a bad mood when I stopped to get gas at a small local station late at night. I went to get out of my car and slipped on the ice. I screamed at the attendent (he was out trying to spread salt and break up the ice) that someone was going to break their leg, so he took my money in for me and prepaid for me, and pumped my gas (this was a self-service station). I left. Then a few days later, I stopped back around the same time of night to get something to drink. I started talkin to him a little, he seemed pretty nice. I didn't realize it (but my friends did) that I was talking about him a lot. At that time, my so-called boyfriend and I were broken up again, and he was calling me begging me to come back again. My friends urged me to go talk to the "gas-station" man again before I went back to him. So I did. I stopped in a few days later, late at night (it was close to midnight when I got there). I ended up staying all night, just talking. When he got off work seven hours later, we went out to breakfast. We've been together ever since, its been 3 years, with one of those years being married. It was an interesting way to meet someone, considering that he proposed to me at that gas station in the middle of the nite (one month after that first stay-all-nite) in front of two police officers.
Oh, and the whole "Someones gonna break their leg" thing did come true, I did fall and break my ankle three months after we met.

I met my boyfriend online as well. Actually it was on AOL personals before match.com took it over. I was bored basically and just put something up wanting to meet people and he popped up on my IM one day and we started chatting for months online, than on the phone and online and finally we met in person. We've been together for 4 yrs now and I love him to death.

I think most people are doing things online more than ever before especially in meeting people. Or even at school or maybe at work. You just have to get yourself out there. I live in Philadelphia, PA and it's not hard to find someone to date but it's easier online, a lot of my friends did the online thing and it seemed to work perfectly.

i also met my partner on the internet, we have been together now for nearly 2 years and i couldnt be happier, I think people tend to open up a bit more and you find out more from someone talking to them like this than if you were to go on a date, you are not as shy
