My hair is quite thin, but there's a LOT of it, so it looks quite thick. It's that annoying hair that's not straight and not curly or even wavey. It's just messy, frizzy and has a couple of huge kinks in it.
For work I wear it up every single day because I don't have time to sort it out in the mornings. However, out of work I like to wear my hair down. The only way I can do this is if I straighten it, which takes a long time because there's so much of it. Also, straightening just seems to make it more frizzy, even though I use heat protecting serum.
Basically, I want to know if there are any products or techniques I can use so that I can wear my hair down more often, without the hassle of having to straighten it all the time.

Hi i have this problem, my hair is neither straight nor wavy and i wear it up also because like you say it takes so long to get it right, and the more you mess with it the worse it gets. You maybe using the wrong type of hairstraigteners, you may need a higher tempereature hairstraightener, i had a pair that made my hair frizz out loads and i changed them to a hotter pair and it was lovely, soft and shiny. So it maybe worth investing in of hairstraighteners. Also it depends on what heat protection spray you use i find some make my hair go greasy and dry my hair out even more, at the moment i use pantene ice shine. Charles worthington stay smooth in a blue bottle is brilliant.I wouldnt recommend the using heat protective hair serum, because i read on one of the hairdressers website that although it works temporarily, it damgages you hair in the long run which could be the reason why you hair is getting frizzy. Try using a coconut shampoo and conditioner, also use a leave in conditioner to. or try a smooth and sleek product range like pantene.
Another good product is sunslik iron effect smoothing cream, it does straighten and adds shine. but i thought it made my hair feel heavy and lank, but the leave in cream in a squezy bottle is good. Try sunsilk purple range

First of all I'd say get a good hairdresser. It is possible to reduce frizz and kinks simply with a good cut that suits the thickness and length of your hair. I get kinks in my hair but only when the style is growing out and its time for a trim.
The other option is permanent straightening which more and more salons offer. Its quite expensive I think but would absolutely solve your problem. Yuko is a Japanese straightening technique £200-£300 dependant on the length of your hair.

I had the same problem hun. Use Loreal Vive Shampoo and Conditioner Extra Volumizing and then use John Frieda's No Frizz Hair Serum. Let your hair air dry so that the blow dryer doesnt damage or make your hair freezy. As it is air drying take a brush and run it through your hair every 10 minutes to keep it untangled and to keep it flowing straight. There are many styles out there you can try out to give your hair some flip. Try this website. I would be surprised if you didnt find anything you liked!

sounds like my hair! personally what i do is straighten it maybe 3 times a week - a bit of a pain but if you use the right products it will stay fairly straight for a couple of days after that. also try using a straightening product that you put right into your hair after you've washed it, and then avoid blowdrying it as much as possible - that will only dry it out even more.
maybe some days you can dry and wear it wavy/curly? or find other things to do with your hair like having it in 2 plaits - cute and great for bad hair days!

Look for products that help to tame frizz hair certain shampoos and conditioners can make your hair more frizzy use smoothing serums and use a leave in conditioner in your hair when you use a straighting iron, if you got up a bit earlier in the morning you can do something with your hair, I have wavy hair but very fine and it does get messy so I can sympathise with you.

How about having it chemically straightened? Try an afro-caribbean salon, who do this quite often. Then you can have treatments to keep it in good condition. Failing that, how about having some long layers cut in, so it looks like the kinks should be there? I bet its nicer than you think, but we always want what we don't have, don't we. Mine is poker-straight,grrrrrrrrrr

I use John Frieda products too and its great. I have curly hair that tends to frizz up. I apply the serum after washing my hair and then either blow dry it straight or leave it curly. Takes the frizz away.

try getting the ends of your hair cut it often helps i know it does that with me my hairs a bit like yours but as long my only comes down to my shoulders. sometimes after I've washed it tie to back then later straighten it and it doesn't take so long that way with your hair being longer you will have to put a couple of bands in it further down

well if u get a good straightner it shouldnt make it frizzy and it used to take me like 2-3 hours for me to do my hair and it is only shoulder length but soon after a few months it took me 45mins and only if u get ur hair alittle wet it goes frizzy but I have herd that ur can perm ur hair straight! but I have seen sum ppl with rly straight hair and I tink they did perm it straight but it dosent rly look natural! but u could ask ur hair salonist if there are any products that work rly well or u could blow dry it with a round brush
