iIm having art classes and for the kids to paint I buy buckets of paint (those for the walls) and just use those, are they bad to use, to touch? to smell?

the newer paints are nontoxic... older paints are, they are now made better

These art classes sound like fun!im almost 100% sure that ACRYLIC paints(these are water-based,meaning the paints combine with water and the brushes can be cleaned in water)are safe.Especially the powder paint kinds!
But paints such as Enamel paints and oil-based paints are not the best kinds to use and you wash them off with Thinners or Turpentine. THese might make the kids a bit dizzy!!!
Whether the paints are Enamel or Acrylic should be on the label!

No. I'm not completely sure of this, but at one point, paint DID contain toxins. However, nowadays, you see most ads boasting about "non-toxic" paints.

So at one point, there must definitely have been toxic contents in paints, though like i said before, i'm not sure if non-toxic alternatives were available back then.

But the point is, nowadays, you find that not ALL paint are toxic.

Some people like the smell of paint. The kids are in no danger. Go ight ahead...
