You assume that religion is needed to keep humans in line. Nowdays there belief has changed from religion to morals through to the understanding of science. As someone once said "Science is the collection of dead religions"

I don't want to see all religions die - and you statement that 'if one falls, all fall' then what about Jonestown etc. they were religions, they died but the rest are still here.

i don't really know. many people nowadays see religion as a hindrance to life. not many people believe in it anymore. it's just that we blame God for whatever bad thing happened. to us or our love ones. we all just lack faith.
