My cat gave birth to kittens 3 weeks ago. After handling them, you are left with a really strong smell on your hands, its not like a normal "pet" smell, but very strong. We make sure we wash our hands before and after holding them, but why do they smell like this?

Don't worry, just give em a sponge bath with a wet cloth. Check your momma too, make sure her teeth are in good health. Kittens may smell like urine also..

newborn kitten smell. defleaing and deworming? unless the mom has these things, shouldn't even be an issue. they'll smell better when they get older.

I have no idea ! If the seem otherwise healthy, I guess I wouldn't worry about it too much

They need a bath. My vet told me to use baby shampoo on my kittens when they were that age.

if you're really worried then talk to a vet but i think you should just leave them to settle with their mum.
