I have long hair and I want to pull the sides back and get the "bump" up top..How do I get the "bump" and what should I clip the sides back with?

firstly the 'bump' is called a quiff. being a big fan of the quiff myself i find backcombing the hair. get the section of the hair you would like to use to create the quiff then split it into layers across from the back of the section to the front then using a small comb push the hair to the root and spray on a little hairspray. gather all the hair in the section and brush over the top for a neater look and fix with kirby grips ( small slides ) pull upo the sides and fix them also using the kirby grips.

Ok, if you have those bang things infront, take them and comb them upward then across your head. Hold them in place with bobby pins. If you dont have bangs, simply do a ponytail, and then use someting like a pencil or anything small like that, and raise the part you want up. Or just tease it. You have to get used to doing it.
