What kind of capital punishments are you thinking about? How can we punish these criminals and how severe?

Oh god, why do you all want to harm people? Wouldn't it be much better if they were sent to a sort of correction camp where they would be explained why is it bad to rape until they understand it? That would ensure they never do it again, and it would also fit your Christian view about forgiveness better, wouldn't it?
Do you think Jesus would personally stab the criminal, or would he rather forgive and teach instead?

For the guy that said Rape was not the worst thing that can happen to a woman you're right. You could be raped and then killed. It's a heinous crime right up there with murder. People are doing it then getting out after 1-2 years. Some of these women or men never recover.
What about the ones that discover that due to a rape they've contracted an incurable disease, and are going to face high medical bills, and a shortened lifespan?
It would be great if you could send them to prison to be REFORMED, but it doesn't work. Prison rarely works at all. Sometimes there is no fix to a person, and they need to be put down like rabid animal.
You can't castrate them. It won't work. That's from a psychology point of view. It's not about pleasure. It's about control, hate, and anger. They would still be able to rape people with objects.
I'd have to say life in prison being raped or death. Victims choice.

Get the SOB's off the street! IF they rape once, it will happen again and again until they are caught. Some its a game some its thrill and some are just sick in the head! Rape is about control and anger...not the sex act..but the victims it leaves behind are forever changed. You can put them in prison, but most states let me go early because of overcrowding in the prison...and they need to be punished to the point they no longer can have sex. Civil rights? Over rated!!

The sentence no matter how light or severe, should be decided by the person who is raped. Cut off his nuts, shoot him in the head, have him raped by other inmates, community service picking up trash, whatever the punishment be, it would be better than what we have know. At least in the state of Minnesota you can rape even murder and you will not spend more than 10 years in prison. Go to an offender locator site and look at some of these sentences, its sad. Murder should =Death and Rape should =Life with no parole.

I belive the punishment should be extremely severe and I would not rule out the death penalty for really brutal rapes, child rapes or multiple time offenders. RIght now a person does more time for being caught with a small baggy of pot than they do for rape. That's the truth.
Castration IS a good idea.

I could get very severe with how I'd punish rapist. But I am not inhumane as they are. They should get a prison term. Long probation. And some kind of community service. Repeat offenders should be locked away for good. Child molesters should be executed because they cannot be rehabilitated.

Most of the people answering here are worse than any rapists, you should be ashamed of yourselves...cut off his genitals, castration, death penalty???...whats wrong with you people, I would rather be bent over a table naked in a Vaseline factory with a room full of rapists than with you lot.
Rape is a heinous crime, especially when its brutal (which is a charge in addition to rape) and someone committing a rape should be punished, but come on, rape is not the worst thing that can happen to a women and hardly calls for mutilation or the taking of a persons life, you lot sound like were in the 13th century...and what about those that turn out to be innocent .."Oh sorry mate here are your testes back, no hard feelings"

Just put the person in a room with the victims family for 10 minutes and let them decide their fate.

Instead of picking up trash, criminals should be in Columbia, Iraq, former Yugoslavia ect. picking up the thousands of land mines still on the ground.
