Christians don't believe in chanting

well when I was first learning to speak in tongues they told me to say thank you jesus over and over again until the holy spirit filled me. That's the closet to chanting that christianity would have. Verses would be like john 3:16, or the Lords Prayer

Closest thing to chanting Christians do are prayers. It sounds almost like chanting when people recite the rosary.

The two most common prayers in Catholicism (keep in mind all Christian recite the Our Father, but mostly Catholics recite the Hail Mary):

"Our Father"
Our Father, Who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name;
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

"Hail Mary"
Hail Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee;
blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

There are no commonly used phrases or chanting, though verses from the Bible are typically used to prepare sermons from in churches. Catholics have chanting and repetitious praying, but Christian protestant churches don't ... we do sing hymns of praise, though.

Many Christians chant in tongues, but this is highly unbiblical. Speaking in tongue was only used in the Bible to speak to those in other languages, and only given to those who obey God and his commandments.

By the way, speaking in tongues was done about 3 times in the Bible, where preaching, prophesying and teaching were done hundreds of times.

1. Praise the Lord!
2. Hallelujah!
3. I love you Jesus!
Or anything nice you can think of about God or Jesus.
