8 glasses of 8 oz of water is sufficient. plus, it is important to eat healthy, and stay away for fast food and junk food. also do some cardio, at least 1 hour a day. with exercising, eating healthy, and drinking 8 glasses of water a day, you will achieve your goal, no matter how long it will take you. everyone is different--different bodies and different chemistry. so, do your own plan and progress, and preservere till the end. good luck and happy dieting!

The reasoning behind drinking water to lost weight is that it fills you up so you don't eat as much and also keeps you hydrated, thus giving you more energy. Most people don't drink nearly what they should. At a minimum every day you should be drinking one glass for every ten punds you weigh.

Drink as much you can.. After all water is no harmful! But if you could work-out simultaneously, you could lose weight soon! At least 1.5 litres / day is the must for any human. You can drink upto 3 litres (and more) a day..
