The Apostle's Creed is what is commonly used in Protestant churches (though not many do it anymore). The Nicean Creed will slip in occasionally, but it's very rare.

bollengs,
You know what? I am a Protestant Christian, I believe in being born again. I am born again. But I wouldn't call myself a Born Again Christian. As if that was a denomination.

But when you ask about credo and the Nicene Creed, it sounds like you are talking about 'religion.' People who are into religion do religious things. My relationship with God is personal. And religious prayers are not what I am about. Instead I do what I can to trust and love God every day. All the Creeds that I have read seemed yet another way to be 'religious' without the spontanaity that I have enjoyed with God thus far. "Religious" is another way of saying "bondage." You can throw "tradition" in with all that too.

Rather, my aim is to trust God more through talking to Him, that's prayer. But it focuses on communication rather than 'religious activity.' The emphasis is different. I also pick a promise out of the Bible to claim as mine to trust Him with, and that can stay the same for a certain amount of time. But it can change the next hour, depending on what promise from God that I am holding on to. God fulfills His word. He is honest. And that's what I do. Not religious.

No, I think just Catholics do the Nicene creed. But I imagine anyone being baptized into a specific religion has some sort of creed to recite, mainly to announce to the parish that they're now a full member.

I think that different denominations recite creeds of their choosing. Some choose not to use creeds at all. The church I currently attend is Presbertyrian and we recite the Apostles' Creed. It was not written by the apostles. However, it summerizes their beliefs and ours.

No they stay away from all traditional convention and rely on emotionalism and the leadership focuses on "fleecing and shearing the sheep" financially continually.

Just type in" Lifestyles of Tele-Evangelists" into any Search Engine and take a peek at how much Benny Hin spends for Hairspray...and Pastor Randy and Paula Whites Leer-Jet not to mention Pat Robertson!

Not this one! It's not in the bible - it's a manmade ritualistic muttering recited out of a sense of obligation and spiritual insecurity. Born again Christians declare the Word of God. We don't need a form of RELIGION; we've got a RELATIONSHIP with the LORD of glory!
