Recently, I finished watching Ahmed Deedat's great debate with Jimmy Swaggart on the matter. I found it really interesting. I've read some similar questions like this one before and realised that christians are definitely ignoring facts about the bible authenticity. And, ok, I've found out that Swaggart was clearly not a good example for Christians but hey, who cares. It's the FACTS that matters. Too many contradictions! With due respects, my dear christian friends, it's not that i hate you or your religion but i think it's a pity for those ignorants out there not to realise important stuff like this. I wish more people will become open-minded to at least just read or watch the video. I myself read stuff about christianity for the benefit of extra knowledge and Alhamdulillah, the more i know about christianity, the more I believe in Islam. Well, that's all to say. I hope i didnt hurt anyone. If i did, i'm terribly sorry for I'm just a human being..

I cannot deny i expected these kinds of replies b4 i submitted my question. Dont worry people, i respect whatever it is you've got to say (even that one who called me a dumbass) hahaha... I'm not going to argue on this matter because there r lots of place other than this where ppl argue the same question. I'm happy with what i believe, and you with yours. I'm fine with that.

Uh oh, I wont chose a best answer bcoz that wud be bias. I'll let ppl vote for it.

Again, i have respect with everyone and its a shame (of mine) to have hurt others lightly or deeply. Sorry about that. Believe it or not, i'm sincere with everything i said and still, it's really up 4 u to judge.

Assalaamu'alaikum. May God Bless You..

I wasn't going to but reading more of your replies made me adding in this detail. Hamba is not my name. In my language, it simply means 'Servant of'. So Hamba Allah is Servant of Allah. Well, that's me and also all muslims.

The video I was talking about can be downloaded from google video site. You should know where that is by now (ryt?). The title is "Is Bible God's word" by Ahmed Deedat and Jimmy Swaggart. I dont know where you can buy it but hey, this is the internet. Search for it ok.

Really thanx 4 the many replies. Eventho' only a few did answer my question, I appreciate it all the same. All the best everyone. May God Bless You.

You are a dumbass. I don't mean to hurt anyone, but after all its the facts that matter.

Instead of trying to bring an intellectually tenable idea to a dumbass, let me just say this.

I have an IQ of 152. I am extremely well educated.

I have both considered that the Bible is not true and that it is.

I have read of all of the great literature and philosophy of the Western world, and not a little of the rest of the world besides.

I am extremely well educated and no Jimmy Swaggert, and I can assure you that your claim is totally unfounded.

Hello my friend, I am a christian and I don't believe anything, not even from a preacher or a holy man or woman, unless I can research it myself and we come up with the same answer. I had many people tell me that the Quran was a book of hate and that Allah, and the christian God are not the same. I found a web site that really helped me out with answering this question. www.sacred-texts.com. I went there and looked up the Quran. From what I can see is that the main reason the Quran says that Muslims are not to associate with Jews or Christians is because that they associate with each other, and that they both had loved God one moment, and the next turned there back on him. Maybe that is why God allowed the Jewish people to fall into slavery when he stopped talking to them for almost 500 years. The bible does say the you are not to have any other gods before him, and many christians pray in the name of the
Father the Son and the holy spirit. I believe that the holy spirit is the present of God, and Immanuel, is what they call Jesus that means God with us, So if you pray to God why would you need to call him by three name. And if you look around now, many people who claim to Christians are not really acting as Christ would have. How can you call yourself a Christian if you don't live like Jesus the Christ. I believe that Allah, or God or what ever name you give to the creater can see into every mans heart and soul, and he can see weather that person is living there lives like he would want them to or not. God is far beyond anyone scope of imagination he is the only one who knows the answers to everything. All I can pray for is that God will see fit ,in his infinate wisdom, for me to know the unknown. If not, then thats his will, who am I to attempt to question God. No matter what don't let anyone keep you from conversing with the almighty, God bless you my friend.

All religions are a bunch hoo-haw. I dont care what you believe in, just do push me into believing it too. Im so tired of reading these things proclaiming the authenticity of a certain religion, how one relgion is better than another, and reading bits a pieces of the bible being said by people who claim theyre religious. There is no way to prove any religion. Its all based on faith and faith alone. Until Jesus, or Muhammed, or Buddha, or even Satan himself pops up to give us a little visit, nobody knows what the true God is or how to worship him. However you worship God, Im sure hes just happy that hes getting worshipped at all. So hey, go ahead and do all the research you want so you can get all the so called "facts" and whatever religion you decide to go with, let me be the first to say congrats!! But let me say one more thing, defending your faith and religion to people with closed minds has been the cause of wars for hundereds of years. Funny how something like religion, a subject based on love and peace among other things, has been the cause of so much hatred and death. Even today, we're still fighting a holy war. Please, lets just all get along.

There particularly aren't any mistranslations as such. the project is translating the unique Hebrew and Greek into different languages. Hebrew and Greek are a lot more beneficial definitive in that there might want to be a number of words in those languages that one and all translate into one English be conscious. So very oftentimes the genuine which ability or motive is lacking once translated. There are properly over 5,000 separate manuscripts of different books of the bible that were stumbled on over the years. And adjustments between them is oftentimes relegated to effortless mistakes like leaving an "a" or a "the" out. not something that could want to render the bible inconsistent or unfaithful.

The fact of the matter is that no one can prove or disprove the bible. No one can prove that a god exists in any form. So to say your beliefs are the correct one is arrogant. Even if you didn't mean to hurt any ones feelings, people don't like to be called ignorant. I agree that some people have never even read the bible and believe just because mom and dad did, but alot of them did read it. I don't believe in "God" , but I would never want to bash anyone for their beliefs. If believing in a god in any form helps you to live a better life then I'm happy for all of you. You should pray for the other people not bash them. Good luck with you quests in life.

All that I have to say is this:
I've always respected God and believed in him and in recent years I've become more involved into "practicing" Christianity. I've read the bible once and I'm reading it for the second time right now, I've changed my point of view on certain issues and I've endeavored to be more peaceful.
And I can say my life is going great!....it says in the bible that God will reward his saints, well I feel God has given me much in exchange for my faith and patience through Christianity......so I do not intend to stop doing what I'm doing just because there are a couple of things people don't like about the bible. I like my life and I'm very happy with it and I will continue to please God because I delight in his ways.

hamba Allah,
You got it right in admitting that Jimmy Swaggart was not a good example of a Bible scholar. But your logic went south ( became illogical) when you said, "but hey, who cares." You did not get a good Bible scholar who knew the answers. You got a paid amateur who doesn't even preach the Gospel right.

So you go ahead and revel in the false religion of the Quran, that's okay by me, God doesn't want everybody you know.

I hope i didnt hurt anyone. If i did, i'm terribly sorry for I'm just a human being.

There is no contradiction in the Bible. A serious study will
show you that the Bible is both mathematically and logically
perfect. I challenge you to find the break down of logic in any
book of the Bible. I challenge you to disprove any historical fact
in the Bible with archaeological evidence. People have been trying
for a couple of hundred years now. We are still waiting. In fact
we will still be waiting when Jesus Comes!!!

I Corinthians 13;8a, Love never fails!!!!!

The Christian (Christ.. Jesus) Bible is the Word of God. It is God's Word to His world, to us. We have a choice to believe it and accept it as true, or to reject it. Facts can change, yet truth does not change ... the Truth is the same, like God is true and the same, and He is love. You can read the Bible, or you can read about the Bible, what people say about it, their opinions... these are not truth, just opinions, so be careful what you accept as facts and what you accept as truths. You can learn with your head, and also with your heart .. what matters most is the heart. Wisdom comes from God, not from man.
