Okay. If you want to avoid split ends you should get your hair trimmed every 6-8 weeks. This should keep your ends fresh. Use a salon shampoo and conditioner and every 2-3 weeks go to the salon and get a conditioning treatment. If you use thermal styling products such as a flat iron, curling iron, blow dryer, etc make sure to use a thermal protectant spray, creme, or oil. I like to use CHI, bio-silk, and Kenra. Use a wide tooth comb when it is wet or else you can damage your hair as brushing can stretch the hair causing it to become weak. When you use a brush make sure that it is made of boar bristles and if it has those nylon bristles with the little dots on the ends make sure that all the dots are there. When they fall off they leave behind a sharp edge which slices the hair shaft and causes split ends. Throw the brush away or use it on your dog/cat. It is okay to brush your hair when it is dry just be gentle. Do not just barrel through the knots. Start from the bottom of the knot and work your way up to your scalp. Please do not use rubber bands when putting your hair up in ponytails. Use the holders without the metal as well as they can get caught in your hair. Good luck!

The only way to really get rid of split ends is to cut them off, and you should get your hair trimmed every 6 weeks or so. I like this product by Redken called Extreme Antisnap, it gives your hair more elasticity so it won't break as easily (it is a leave in treatment). If your hair is really damaged you won't need a moisturizing shampoo, you probably need a really good professional repairing shampoo and conditioner. There is the Redken Extreme line, the TIGI line Dumb Blonde, Joico KPac... etc... Just make sure it is for extremely damaged hair and is reconstrocting and repair. If your hair is not that damaged, then just go with professional moisturizing shampoos and conditioners. Also you should use some type of hair treatment once a week, like Rescue Force, Deep Fuel by Redken, S-Factor Serious Conditioner, TIGI Treat Me Right Pepermint Mask,... If you heat style your hair you need to use protectant!!! I love CHI Silk Infusion. I would also reccommend the curling iron, flattening iron, or blow drier to be ceramic, it is less damaging to your hair (Personally I would go with a CHI, because the plates are ceramic all the way through). If you have a stylist, maybe she can reccomend some products she likes... Or when you go get your hair cut you can ask the stylist who does your hair. Good luck.

if your black, er time u get a perm just trim your hair a lil
but if u dont get perms (and dis time im talking to er body) just wash it and trim or decide to get a lil hairy cut.

Or u can also let your hair grow a little bit longer and then trim so it'll still be long, but with no split ends.
and you see how er body keep sayin trim it, that sorta is the best solutions so good luck and just dont hesitate or care what other people think also.

Have your hair done every 3 months. If it is long and not a complicated style just snip at the ends yourself every so often

You have to get them trimmed off or they will continue splitting. Also, dont brush/comb your hair after its dry. The salon told me this so I took their word. My hair seems to be much better.

if you trim your hair regularly and use good products you won't have to worry about split ends. try matrix sleek.look. or BioSilk silk therapy. they are great to put the moisture back into your hair.

Yeah, a hair cut. It sucks, but that's the only way to get rid of them.
