It means nothing is uglier nor more shameful than a victory gained through human bloodshed.

There is a time for everything and and war is one of those times
so when you have to protect your home or homeland or family or stop gangs on everyday streets. It must be done, and those who have done war, took no pleasures in it, but it made whatever safe, if done for what is right. Some have deadly beliefs and will stop at nothing to destroy and kill, and the only way to stop them is that inglorious glory called war. Believe you me, there are people who are out there who do not want peace for mankind

Well, I'm a little biased, and I'm going to get a little philosophical, but here goes.
I served in the Marines for five years. I've been to "the beach."
Killing and fighting are not fun. They are not glorious. There is nothing I can think of that is more atrocious than the taking of another life for any reason other than self-defense or survival.
I don't like killing. It doesn't feel good, it doesn't feel right, and it leaes me very depressed and grieving.
"nothing more inglorious than that glory that is gained in war" refers to this concept. People who kill hordes of "the enemy" are lifted up as heroes before their people. They are given glory. Most of these people have nightmares and regrets about the violence for the rest of their lives. They are not proud of what they did.
It's a difficult concept to explain to someone who hasn't killed. It's like trying to explain sex to a virgin, only it's the complete opposite. Not a good feeling, but a bad one.
The truth is, killing, and therefore, "glory gained in war" sucks. It's positively horrible. I wish I could explain it more, but you don't get it unless you've been there.

Causing the death of another, in most societies, can make you either a hero (in war) or put you on death row (a felony).
To others, killing in the name of war is inglorious (shameful). Maybe killing in war is the most inglorious to the author of that statement because that kind of killing is rewarded and praised. Those killers are called "hero".

War is a horrible thing. How then would it be glorious if you win it? Only fools would say yes. War destroys everything. It's like living in sin. Foolish, foolish and useless, that's war.

try rephrasing it. " nothing more (bad)(something known about) than (good)(something known about) that is gainded by war."
which turns into:
Greater than=something better, etc.
glory gained by war<0 or nothing
