Among normal humans', quite obviously the second one. You can't just be religious and not do your bit for humanity, unless you have forsaken the world, and then are involved only in worshiping God, thinking about him all the time.

A non religious person who dedicates his or her life to the less fortunate will go to heaven as that is the cause that god wants us to serve. Only strongly believing in a religion while learning nothing about its true sayings would not take one to heaven.

I'd say BOTH, if they are both good people...a strongly religious person teaches others to be tolerant, and a non-religious person who dedicates his life to the less fortunate is demonstrating what God really IS.

As far as the christian heaven, I would say the non-religious person because I think that when Jesus says things like "the only way to the father is through me," someone who actually practices what Jesus said about helping others is doing more to live "through him" than the person who simply professes a following.

Well, that is kind of a trick question, because the non-religious person probably doesn't believe in heaven and therefor, would not go there post death.
If you take out the word "heaven" and make it "which person would ascend to a greater place after death?" then I believe it wold be the non religious person, because it's always best to help others.

The person who dedicates their life to the less fortunate. For me that is more like the spirit that Jesus tried to instill in his teachings.

Neither...
A person shouldn't let the goal of arriving to a hevan dictate their life. If there is a hevan, I'm sure it's not the actions alone that dictate the fate of a person's destination...
The person's motives for doing the action / deed (or following a belief) would have to be looked at and scrutenized.
If someone did something because they were told it was "good" or that it would get the to hevan, they are just as bad as the one who killed someone in cold blod. Because they didn't have a concern for the other, they just wanted something out of it.
So neither would get to go to a "hevan".
Unless, they did it out of love and didn't care about the concequences, they did it for them selves and for the sake of the other.
B/c anything else would be FAKE.
Plus I believe, that no matter what others believe or other beliefs I may have, if someone (including myself) does something for a reward greater to themselves or does something out of pitty or does something because someone or something (book or god) told them to do, then they shouldn't be "doing" anything at all. Because they then are not DOING what ever they are DOING for the RIGHT reasons, they are not true to things (book or god) or people around them and they are NOT true to themselves, therefore they are LIEING! As I recall, in many religions / spiritualities / and even in LAWS to lie is to break something that you should not break, such as a person should not break the Law.

"Faith without works is dead." James 2:20.
"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father, except through me." John 14:6.
Both of the two thus have issues. I don't know who I'd rather pick. This is why it's God's choice and not mine to make.

Any person who dedicates their life to helping others with no thought of their own has a great chance of getting to heaven.

Actually all the existing religions generally say, "those who help others in need out of kindness without any expectation are always bestowed with a place in the Heaven"
I proudly feel that I will get a place in the Heaven!!!

Neither one unfortunately! Thank God we don't have to be the judge! The Bible is a set of instructions on how to live a Christian life. We are to share together in the joy of the word and edify one another for his glory. We are not to receive this gift and keep it to ourselves. John 17:20-26 is Jesus' prayer for us. That we be one unified body in Him and work together for the glory of God. One who takes and never gives will not be allowed entry. Would you want to live with someone who never gives a helping hand?
The Bible states clearly in John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he sent His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." 3:36 reads " Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him" The only way to the Father, is through the Son. The non-christian, not having made the choice to claim salvation would deny his entry. Would you let a stranger in your house to live?
