what's the best place you've been to and how costly would it be to enjoy the place? i love travelling and im always on the lookout for wholesome kinda fun.

id been to this mountain retreat place and once seated on the balcony, all i could do was stare at the magnificence of the sight before me.

id been to places where natural pools lay undisturbed, unmodified by human hands-- where the sun gently shines thru the leaves of 200 year old towering trees..

so, where have you been?

As an Asian living in Europe, I'd say these are my top 3 choices:

1. Thailand (Chiang Mai, Phuket, Koh Samui, Krabi)
2. Indonesia (Bali)
3. Philippines (my home)

Traveling to South East Asia is good value for money where the people are warm and friendly. I'd go anywhere where there's a beach!

I am from India. I have travelled to some of the most beautiful places in India. But my first choice is Australia. You should visit Sydney. There are lots of tourist atteactions like the under water Aquarium, Opera House, Bondi Beach, Blue mountains, etc. Australia is a costly tourist destination. For example, a ticket to the Aquarium would cost around 30$ now.

Bhutan is another wonderful country. You will be able to relax and enjoy the climate and food there. The Buddhist Monasteries there will take your breath away. Tourists have to pay an all inclusive fare to the travel agents. Individual travel is not allowed. Foreigners have to travel with tour packages offered by tour operators in Bhutan. Approx cost will be 200$ per day, all inclusive.

In India, you should visit Darjeeling, Shimla, Manali, etc. Accommodation and travel is cheap. From the description you gave about your experiences, Manali is the ideal place for you, in India.

The best places to go are often those places you feel like you have "discovered" yourself.

I have been to many sensational places and can find so much beauty in being out in the middle of the ocean where you can see nothing but water, or in the desert where theres nothing but sand.

Going to Turkey a few years ago I felt like that. Although there was still a few tourists there on the day I went I loved Nemrut Dagi in the east of Turkey. After taking a long bus ride with no-one on board speaking English and having kids look at us and follow us like they have never seen a white man before was quite an experience. Then to go to the peak with all these ancient stone heads was magnificent.

I've been to several states: OH, MI, FL, NC, VA, WV, and last year I went to CA. I think the most costly place was probably FL, since we lived there for three months before we moved back to MI. I liked CA the best, though WV is the prettiest because it has a lot of mountains and things like that.

Motorcycle camping is where its at. I've ridden and camped in half the states. I rode and camped on the Natchez Trace, rode over to Stone Mt. GA, then on up into North Carolina. I rode through Deals Gap on the way to camping on the Tennessee River, then on to Arkansas where I visited Hot Springs and Mt. Nebo. I camped again in Texas and did it all in two weeks for $2000.

The best place I've ever been to is the Danube delta in Romania. It's fabulous. the landscape is fantastic and wild (many birds, rare plants, animals, etc.), the food it's great, the people are nice. and it's quite cheap....a week with your family there doesn't cost more that 1500$. i hope to get back there someday!

I've had a trip in Eastern Europe two years ago and it's wonderful! Budapest (Hungary), Croatia and nevertheless Romania are fantastic. I've spent two weeks in the Bran region (Romania) and i had the time of my life. All those castles (peles Castle, Prejmer castle, Sighisoara and...Dracula's castle) are amazing!
