hi doctor,
i have been suffering from myopia(short sight i suppose) right from my 14years.now i am 23 years. i got my eyes checked earlier in 2003.since then i have not changed my lenses. i work as a software engineer and has to be in computer all the time. i do watch a lot of television programmes. i know that my eye sight would have been increased. my last sight was -4 in right eye and -4.5 in left eye. i came to know abt the laser treatement to avoid glasses. can i undergo the operation as such or should i take some preliminary checkups with the eye doctor. what is the cost of these laser treatement in indian rupees. and what will be the accuracy of this operation. hope some one will guide me..

though i am not a doctor, there are two hospitals in Hyderabad one max vision eye hospital located at begum pet, and another one lvprasad institute for eyes .both located in Hyderabad, andhrapradesh. the cost i think rs

I wear different eyeglasses depending on how close I have to see. I wear 150 magnifyer to see and read but 300 to work closely on gaskets and small screws. can you get magnifyers, or "readers"?
this operation that you speak of, as far as I know if not permanent.

AT BANGALORE THERE IS ONE HOSPITAL OPPOSITE TO THE ULSOOR LAKE NEAR THE MURPHY ROAD.BANGALORE.
I THINK THE NAME OF THE HOSPITAL IS NETRALAYA OR SO.HUSBAND AND WIFE BOTH ARE DOCTORS. AND THIS MAN DOES LASER SURGERY TO MY KNOWLEDGE.IF YOU WANT ANY FURTHER CLARIFICATION PLEASE WRITE ME THROUGH YAHOO .I WILL GET YOU THE CORRECT ADDRESS PHONE NUMBER ETC.
