If you have finished high school by the time youre 17 then you can join the army with parent permission. you are of legal age when you turn 18, meaning you can sign your own contract.

Hard to lie about your age nowadays...
(today Audrey Murphy would have been turned away from Army as well)

and a HS diploma required last I heard.

Still believe servicemen should be exempt from drinking laws...
here go risk your life and protect your country BUT we don't feel you're RESPONSIBLE enough to drink???

usually about 17 - 34. However, the National gaurd was willing to waive my age of 49 with just 4 years prior service to go in last year. **they** contacted me. I declined. I think we might be closer to a draft then our leaders would have us believe.
