For some reason when I read the book of Leviticus, it seems more like the words of a random sexist man than that of a divine being. Anyone else see this?

That's the feeling I get when I read the entire bible, not just Leviticus, though Leviticus is arguably the worst. The bible WAS written by men and in that day and age, women were good for only having children and cooking meals. So of course, it's very sexist. I'm surprised they let Mary be as prominent as she was.

I get an even more "unusual" feeling when I think of all the Hasidim Jews following the book of Leviticus to the letter i.e. like their quaint custom of having all the married Orthodox Jews (Hasidim) sit in one huge bathtub (females) that are menstruating
and bathe together ...ay gavelt and oy vey and ugh!

If you are reading The King James version that is EXACTLY what it is! It is widely known that King James had several books removed from The Bible and had it re-written to suit HIS point of view, not God's, that is why few people use that version anymore.

I personally agree. It seems to be a large manuscript of people the bible does not tolerate. In fact it has several references to murdering sorcerors and mediums among other people. In simplicity it says all people are not worthy of life and should therefor have it removed.

Are you kidding? There are some really awesome stories in there. Like that one where a woman stopped a fight by grabbing the crotch of her husband's assailant and then the judge ordered that her hand be chopped off. There's justice for you. I'd want my hand chopped off too if I felt some other guy's naynays
