He was - as far as my siblings and I have always been concerned - just about perfect. He was kind. He made us laugh all the time. He seemed to be able to fix anything or build anything he wanted, and he seemed to be very intelligent. He knew about history, politics, philosophy - and he'd talk to us about all of them on a regular basis, in addition to just talking about things he had learned or been through. Integrity and honesty were important to him, and he was respectful of other people. He did what he could to try to help as many people as he could as well.

but in answer to your question....

I kind of wish he would have gotten dressed up and brought my mother out to dinner more often.

I also wish that maybe he hadn't worked as hard as he did because I think I would have had him longer if he hadn't been quite such a hard-working person from morning until night.

My dad passed in 2005. I couldn't have asked for a better man to be my dad. He was my best friend and will continue to be. He always put his kids first and knew when to be my dad instead of my friend. My dad gave great advice and made me comfortable to the point I would go and talk to him before I talked to my mom about girl issues.

I notice some people put that they hate their dad or their dads are a*s*sholes. Just remember what is here today could be gone tomorrow so make the best of it. My dad was healthy and just collapsed to his death at the young age of forty-five. So just keep in mind that it is a hard job to be a parent just like you think it is a hard job to be a kid.

I wish he would have raised each of his children as individuals realizing that people each have their own inherant talents and apititudes, and people aren't all the same. Therefore not everyone has the ability to get good grades in school, and some can even drop out of high school if they wish.

My dad continually kept his thoughts to himself and that i tried so not user-friendly to get him to inform me what he became happy with me or that it became ok after I did not do issues completely, what mattered is that i became attempting and doing my staggering. It wasn't till i became about 18 that i eventually became waiting to inform him how not user-friendly I had labored to win his approval yet I by no ability felt solid sufficient, even as it grew to develop into out all alongside that he became very happy with me he only did not understand i mandatory to take heed to it. I also wish my dad had talked to me about how adult men ought to take care of females, and a thanks to get adult men to attend to you respectfully. He dealt with my mom and my sisters properly, yet by some ability i did not get it and wasted a large number of time round egocentric and disrespectful adult men in the time of my youthful people and into my early 20's.
