The recruiters have a short sample test that can predict fairly accurately how you will score on the ASVAB. Try that first, and if you feel a need to study prior to taking the actual exam, do so.

HEY, HERE! Ok, do not listen to the fools that say "don't worry".
Do worry, the ASVAB will determine what you do for four years of your life. You may also find out that you really like the military (as I did) and stay for 20 years to get a retirement and personal satisfaction knowing you are doing good with your life.
Although the test screens a lot more than math, science and English, these main items will really count toward your choices.
Study all the areas of the 3 R's that you feel a little short on and practice the areas that you think you know. The higher you score, the better your job choices.
What would you prefer: A job peeling potato's or a shot at getting a nuclear certification and earning $40,000 Incentive pay?
Remember, you only get one shot at it every 6 months and it will count for any branch of the military you decide to go into. Go Navy!
Good luck!

Get the study guide, and practice. You don't want to end up a fuel handler. It's extremely important to do well.
Good Luck
Sorry to any fuel handlers. That wasn't a dig at anyone.
Go aviation. Electronics repair. Great job.
You can study. You can brush up on math skills that you haven't used in a while. You don't need to go back to school.
That's so not true. I was aviation. I scored well the first time, but I was fresh out of school. I knew several older guys in aviation. That took the test several times. At least one of them was the best technician I knew. Brilliant guy. Had a great knack for fixing things.

That test is about your general knowledge and logic skills a class at this would not be beneficial to adding points to the scores try to answer as many as you can and don't panic remember on multiple choice your first guess is actually right about 70% of the time. the tests will be used to give you an idea of what jobs you can qualify for.

Asvab is Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Test. Regardless of what some will say you can't study for an aptitude test. Even if you could, it would just make you appear qualified for something you aren't cut out to do. Just relax and do your best.

Nope dude dont worry about going to school to learn about general education. You can go to your local book store (maybe even the library) or go to this website and you are able to buy study guides and even take practice test. Hope this helps...
