I'm a guy who's a hopeless romantic. I'm willing to do ANYTHING for a girl just to make her happy. I always hear how great of a guy I am, I just can't seem to find the right girl who wants more than a friendship with me. I'm 18 and start college this fall so I was wondering what I can do to come across as more than just a friend. I want to start a relationship as friends, but I get a crush, and shortly after, get crushed BECAUSE there's no attraction. (In HS last year I was voted "Face we'll see in GQ" so I'm not too concerned about my looks but I'm VERY far from cocky!) Going into college, what should I work on?

I've put myself out there twice and both times, I was told that they didn't feel the same. I'm still really good friends with both of them now, too.

that's a problem i've had too. turns out that when i "wait" a little while to see if i should ask her out, or if i just take too long cause i want to get to know her first and all that, that i waited too long

you are turning into a friend because of the fact that you aren't trying to close the deal right away. after a relationship is over, which you never hope will be the case when they start, you aren't likely to stay friends. at least not for the first year or so (with me, twice it's taken 3 years to be friends again)

with a girl, when you first meet, there's the possibility, but if you don't keep letting on that you want to be with her, it will die and never resurface with her.

short of it? find a girl. make a move. get it over with. flirtatiousness doesn't last forever.

have you ever noticed that some girls that used to talk to you a lot when you flirted with them just don't talk that much anymore? like not like they did before? guess what, you could've scored with THEM too. well, at the least, they were interested at some point, even if they won't admit it

that's you problem
the romantics may send the flowers
but it's the a holes who get the girls
you read as a male wuss
and no college girl want that
she want an agressive bad a s s
who takes charge
is the life of the party
can dance his a s s off
has a body to boot
later in life when she is 45 plus
she will look for guys like you
who will take them on there perosnality alone
at 18 you shouldn't be hooking up at all
you should be unattainable
as if ( and in eventually becomes a truth ) you always got someone after you and places to go, people to see
women love a guy who they can have easily
they see it as a man about town, going places where they are not
be that guy ( and not the romatintic ) and you have the girls
BTW never do everything.. that is a HUGE turn off and women will use you for anything and have no qualms about doing it either..as you made yourself a the human carpet mat / push over
have some self respect

it just sucks. Your type of personality is sadly usually the "just friends" type. I'd say wait it out and dont change a thing. Girls your age are looking for that bad boy type, but in a few years they will be looking to settle down. Don't worry about anything.

I'm guessing b/c you don't give off an "I like you sort of vibe to anyone you might like." My advice would be to clearly state your intentions to whatever girl you might like that way everything's out there on the table.

Be yourself and over time you'll find her. Just don't stress over it too much. And have fun.
