It's so funny how I remember this as if it were yesterday. I went into labor during church...water broke and all. My sister refused to give up her watch to time the contractions. When I got to the hospital, I learned the baby turned into the breach position and they literally had to turn him around (I thought I was going to die). My mother insisted that I have no drugs (because the saint she is, didn't have any). Labor lasted for 36 hours, 12 of it hard labor. During contractions my mother and I were playing Rummy to keep my mind off the pain and pass the time. When I finally hit the 10 centimeters and was ready to push, hubby had already left to go and get dinner (we were in the hospital since that sunday morning mass, and it was now late Monday), so my mother stepped in. Not sure if it was the pain, the stress from hubby not being there, or the length of labor just wore me out, but I passed out cold, when I awoke, baby was born.

I was a month overdue and huge- could hardly breathe. The delivery took 52 hrs in the hospital (for Thanksgiving!). The contractions would start and stop, start and stop- lots of back pain.
They finally x-rayed and saw my back was curved. They would have done a C but there was an emergency twin delivery and it was a small hospital so they had to focus on her.
That was good for me cuz finally my son moved into the birth canal and from there on, it was a breeze- quick and relatively painless. He weighed a whopping 10 lbs 11 oz and looked like he was a month old.
Nowdays, none of this wouldv'e happened. They would have induced at 2 weeks over and wouldn't have let me go with my water broke that long.

I loved giving birth. I only have one child right now and she's going to be a year old next month. I had to be induced which wasn't bad. I was pushing for 2-3 hours though because my daughter just didn't want to come out yet. I know that it was a lot of work and that I was so worn out, but at the end all that I really remember is when she came out and they put her on my stomach. She was the most beautiful baby I ever saw. After that I didn't really have a lot of pain or anything. I hope this helps you out.

I was crying and screaming so hard that I nearly passed out. The nurse looked at me with a mean stare and said, "NOW there's no sense in that! You're going to scare the other patients." I was thinking to grab hold of her and smack her a around a few times, but I decided to focus all of my energy on trying to maintain consciousness. I almost forgot about the pain when I saw my baby, but I couldn't. I have another child that is almost 3 years younger than my first. I cried when I found out that I was pregnant because I was so horrified to go through the pain again (the 2nd for me was by far the most painful).

My contractions started Thursday afternoon. By Friday morning, they were less than 5 minutes apart but not very intense. I went to the hospital and found out I was only 1cm and wasn't admitted (military hospital). All day Friday continued having contractions, while going shopping and my mother making me "walk the baby down". Friday night, unable to sleep because of the pain....water coming out little by little, no gushing. Went to hospital at 6am and had to walk across the entire parking lot, we couldn't pull up to the door because it was 11 days after Sept 11 and no wheelchair(military hospital). Wasn't able to get epidural until I was 4cm, getting to that point was terrible but on the other hand I can't bear the pain of getting my eyebrows plucked either. Anyway received epidural but at 8cm, no longer progressing and if i didn't reach 10 soon i would have to get a c-section because his heart rate was going up, I didn't want that. I prayed that i didn't need one and the next thing i know, i was at 10cm. Once the pushing started, it was over in about 10minutes. After 2 days of labor, my son was born at 8:22 that evening.

i was in and out of contractions it was like my labour would stop for couple of hours then start agian.this went on for a week. plus my then bf (baby dad) decided he wasnt ready yet (this was while i was in labour) then changed his mind and came back the next day saying it was nerves and me in the middle of giving birth to our child wanted to belive this was the case. then while i was pushing our daugther into the world i grabbed his shirt to discover his whole neck and chest was covered in hickeys. but funny thing was once my daugther was born and looked into to my eyes for the first time none of that stuff that happened mattered not even when he left. the only thing that mattered was this little girl. loving and protecting her from the horrible things in life. that was nearly 5 yrs ago but my daugther is a very strong independant young lady whos beauty shines through to any one that meets her

lol.. I dont know about special but I do know that my first birth was by far the easiest. You would think it would be the other way around but it wasnt the last baby was the hardest.

I had a scheduled c-section and was very glad I did! My baby was big and from what I heard from other mothers, I had a much easier recovery! Hope it helps!

Well, I thought it was easy, but then I had my 2nd child and realized how difficult my first delivery was. Then I had my 3rd and realized that it was even more difficult than I had thought before.
