kingreef777,
Thank you for your reply. I think you were the only christian (other than the first one) that actually responded.
For what it is worth, evolution is not a religion, although I acknowledge that I will be unable to change your view on this.
There have been christian terrorists. What do you call the abortion clinic bombings? or the Lord's Resistence Army in Uganda? How about the Christian Identity Movement? You might not like to call them christians, but they do! They worship Christ and use the bible to justify their actions.
Also, it is a little hard to address state laws when you are not allowed to even hold office!

Gravtol, I agreed with everything you said. Nativity scenes in malls are (and should be allowed). If someone doesn't like it, they can go to the next mega-shopalis down the block.
I also agreed with your comment on Freedom of Speech & Bush, Sr. I voted against him. Still, I think it underlines the point on why atheists are touchy about a few things. I think that atheists are discriminated against in our society and I was just trying to point that out.
That doesn't mean that I want America to be atheist only. I don't. I do wish that there were more atheists/skeptics around, but I would never want my philosophies or opinions forced on others.

well as a Jew I can tell you how I would reply.
First off let me say that the video was great and you made your message clear and backed it up with facts which is always critical.
As for Blue Laws,Boy scouts, legal restrictions on Atheists (I am shocked that it is still on the books in several states including my own) regardless of the fact if they are in forced intelligent design (religion has no place in a public school)
I could not agree with you more.
as for under G-d on the coin that has dated back over 150 years one could argue on tradition, but its still a weak argument. even less so in other places.
as for things like abortion, gay marriage, and other things that are not seen as morally right we as a nation need to state a clear message. Are we a nation biased on Biblical morality or on personal liberty. lets pick one and move on already.
as for old Bushes comment while I do not agree with it we do have freedom of speech in this nation and if you dont like what he said voice it in the polls latter down the road.
But that dose not mean I agree with all the Atheist platforms. The idea that you should not have a nativity or a Christmas tree in a Mall is flat out stupid. This is coming from the Jew here. Most of this nation is Christian and if they like those things in their malls then let them have it. Its private property and the owner can do what he likes to generate business.
the same thing with Crosses on war memorials. I understand that it is government land, but have some respect for the families of the dead soldiers. Why cant they have a cross on their grave.
the United States is a secular nation. That means it is neutral on religion. Sometimes I feel some Atheists (not necessarily you) are trying to make it Anti-religious as much as Christians are trying to make it Pro-religious.

I'm an atheist and I would like to thank you for this video. I think it's great. It explains many of the reasons why we care about religion. I think it's good for the religious people to see such a reality check and find out how atheists are being discriminated against and how other people's religious beliefs effect our lives. Great work!

imrational,
It is true that if the religions are seeking to control everyone, regardless of their belief, it is wrong. Upon that one point I agreed with that video.
This has been the first Atheist that I have encountered that has mentioned anything along the points he mentioned. I also do not respect the man's veiw on what's going on in the schools. Because Evolution, as he indicated was under fire from Creationism. Evolution has had their way in school. Evolution still remains the only religion taught in schools. But never are they to admit that it is a religion.
So I think that it would be accurate to say that THAT Atheist cares about religion for those reasons. None of the others in so many years has brought up even one of those points.
You also cannot lump all religion in the terrorists camp. Christians in the USA are in no way instigators, coverers, or perpetrators of the Terrorism of Islam. Muslims are in general responsible for that.
The guy should have stuck to state law, which can be addressed through the proper channels. And then stop acting like you are all put out because you can't get a beer in Texas on Sunday. Buy more on Saturday Night if you need to get stupid on Sunday, or change the law through due course. Stop acting like your nailed to a cross about beer. Stop crying like a little baby about it. Was he also crying about washing machines? What a baby.

Again, my compliments on your video.
kingreef777, and others that do not think religion is a threat in this country, need to wake up. Christian 'Dominionists' (Reconstructionalists, Theonomists) have largely usurped the local level political apparatus of the Republican Party, and are engaged in a sub rosa process to politically motivate moderate Christians under the false cover of religious issues such as morality and family values. The goal is nothing less than the takeover of all elective offices in the USA.
Their doctrine comes from the Bible, starting with the term 'dominion' at Genesis 1:28... “And God said unto them, [Adam and Eve] Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have DOMINION… over every living thing.” They interpret DOMINION as: “... a supremacy in determining and directing the actions of others or in governing politically, socially, or personally.”
They want to remake the USA as a theocracy... and they are succeeding.
Its most common form, Dominionism, represents one of the most extreme forms of Fundamentalist Christianity thought. Its followers, called Dominionists, are attempting to convert the laws of United States so that they match those of the Hebrew Scriptures. They intend to achieve this by using the freedom of religion in the US to train a generation of children via home-schooling and in private Christian religious schools. Later, their graduates will be charged with the responsibility of creating a new Bible-based political, religious and social order. One of the first tasks of this order will be to eliminate religious choice and freedom. Their eventual goal is to achieve the "Kingdom of God" in which much of the world is converted to Christianity. They feel that the power of God's word will bring about this conversion. No armed force or insurrection will be needed; in fact, they believe that there will be little opposition to their plan. People will willingly accept it. All that needs to be done is to properly explain it to them.
All religious organizations, congregations etc. other than strictly Fundamentalist Christianity would be suppressed. Nonconforming Evangelical, main line and liberal Christian religious institutions would no longer be allowed to hold services, organize, proselytize, etc. Society would revert to the laws and punishments of the Hebrew Scriptures. Any person who advocated or practiced other religious beliefs outside of their home would be tried for idolatry and executed. Blasphemy, adultery and homosexual behavior would be criminalized; those found guilty would also be executed. There are two conservative Christian pastors in Texas who have advocated the execution of all Wiccans. Ralph Reed, the executive director of the conservative public policy group the Christian Coalition has criticized Reconstructionism as "an authoritarian ideology that threatens the most basic civil liberties of a free and democratic society."
By failing to openly confront this insidious agenda, we have sown the seeds of our own destruction, while these religious wing-nuts are paving the way to Armageddon with gleeful anticipation.

As a Christian I'd say, "Well sir you don't seem to understand that we don't think rationally and as such we do not listen to reason. While we make "rational" arguments they are only to coax the rational amoung you into becoming irrational." That's what I'd say.
Of course, I'm not a christian.
