Ok. First of all, don't panic (although you probably already have!) I have long hair, always have and when I was younger always had gum in my hair. Peanut butter works. Just slather some creamy peanut butter on the area and then wash it out. Ice works. Rub some ice on the area and then try to rub the hair between your fingers to rub the gum out (it'll roll out in little chunks.) If all else fails, you may have to cut it out. I hope you can get it out without cutting it. Good luck and don't sleep with gum in your mouth!

Hold an ice cube on it. It will make the gum hard but slippery. Then it will slide right out, without tearing your hair. Good Luck!

as the others state, oily products work well. Also try ice cubes and when the gum hardens, it will crumble (just use a paper towel to insulate your hand's heat from the gum).
Hope it comes out.

I used to put gum in my hair when I was a kid and my mother would just snip that part of my hair with scissors.

I've heard plenty of times, peanut butter. If you don't have that, i think mayonnaise might work but not sure.
