in the OPTIONS menu, under UPLOADS and in the section BASIC, there is that bar where u can "Set the percentage of your bandwidth devoted to uploads". If i put the thing all the way to 100%, will my downloads become slower while limewire is uploading? wut if i turn off uploads, will my downloads go faster? (i already put the download speed to 100%)

well, the bandwidth for uploads and downloads are separated through DSL connections and are treated as separate. However, the computer will slow down according to the data it transfers.

Personally, I keep my upload speed low - about 20-30%. This way I keep the bandwidth free for other people that use the internet.

Your downloads may become slightly slower, but what you'll more likely notice is that the other things that you do on the internet -- like surfing and email will become slower.

I'd suggest setting the upload percentage to 20 to 30 percent to prevent them impacting other activity.

Its completely criminal to apply Limewire and Limewire professional. Its only what you acquire and wether you're entitled to a replica is yet another element. To acquire William Peterson is prohibited in case you do no longer already very own the dvd. you will possibly desire to purchase it or might finally end up procuring 10,000 copies of the dvd and doubtless detention center time....while you're traced and unfastened in courtroom.

There are at least two wires for your internet connection. One is for transmitting, and one is for receiving. While excessive uploading will slightly lower your download speeds, it's not something you should turn off. I mean, how good would Limewire work if everyone turned off their uploads? :-P

usually that would be the case but then you would have to think about the bandwidth of the host. your bandwidth is set high but theirs might be set to a lower setting. you also have to keep in mind of the other people who are using the type of high speed in your neighborhood.

You probably would increase the speeds of your downloads, but that's kind of an A hole thing to do on a P2P network. You are taking from others but they can't take from you??? Think about it.
