Effective way to smell one's own breath?

Is there a good way, or device to smell your own breath?

According to TheraBreath, lick the back of your hand then smell it.
Their products are good but expensive.

Go into a corner & cup your hands around your mouth & breath out. Then quickly smell of it. I guess you could also breath into a jar & then smell of it.

Lick the back of your hand, and allow the saliva to evaporate. Then smell your hand.
