I used to have awesome hair. It was shiny, super curly, and so healthy. Since I gave birth, my hair is VERY dry and seems to have lost a lot of curl. Is this normal? I also have severe thyroid problems and my doctor says it could be either one that caused this. Anyone else experienced this?

My hair did and I have thyroid problems as well - when it is not treated you lose hair. What you are describing sounds all thyroid related. Hormones from pregnancy don't help either. I would go to an Endo and get your levels tested again and see if they are in range and if not then they should adjust your dose. Best of luck! :-)

Well after I had my first child my hair became really dry and it broke off very easily which I hated because I have been trying to get my hair to grow for a long time. But I started to use a really good shampoo and conditioner and not apply alot of heat to my hair because that is another way your hair can really get dry.

I had a very positive reaction (on my hair after the birth of my first child) however when I had my second my hair seemed to get really thin and dry. Drink alot of water and take hair vitamins it does help.

use more and better conditioner and leave it in longer.

by longer i mean condition ur hair adn let it sit in there for an hour or so and get back into the shower and rinse it out. or u can put olive oil in ur hair and put a bag over it for an hour or 2 on the weekend and u will have very shiny and helthy hair in about 4 weeks. but u have to shampoo the oil out.
