I have a 1998 Toyota Tazz 1.3 litre
When I push my clutch down, and I'm in gear, the car begins to shake a hell of a lot. If the car is in neutral, it does not shake at all.
There is also a squeaking noise when I push my clutch down.

I'm now also struggling to change gears - the gear stick seems almost stuck and I almost have to force the gear stick into gear. When the car is off though, I can change gears fine so I don't think that there is a problem with the gearbox.

What do you think the problem(s) could be? Will it be expensive to fix?

Thanks!

You need a new clutch pad and/or pressure plate. Can be expensive yes.

sounds more like the clutch isnt fully disengaging than it does the clutch going bad. a slipping/worn clutch wouldnt not let him out of gear. It would just slip on acceleration. You might have a bubble in your hydaulic lines, or something as simple as the release spring on your clutch pedal is gone/loose.

Clutch is gone. The pads are all worn out. Take it to a shop before you damage your tranny.
