God created us for his pleasure.
As odd as THAT seems!
He created us so that we could love him and have a relationship with Him. Although, even though he's God, He didn't want us to be robots and love him just because he made us to do it. So He gave us free will. this is the kind of love that we as humans like as well. None of us would really feel loved by someone that had a gun to their heads and said they loved us under pressure. So, yeah... it was because of his pleasure.
sorry my Bible is upstairs and i dont have scripture to back this up...but Ephesians 1:1-19 should say that.

Picture a happily married couple. All their needs are met and they are complete in every way. Love and wisdom abound. Neither feels a need for another outside of the two to be complete. One day they are talking an they wonder what it would be like to share their love with another. There motive is so that the another could be blessed. So that the child could feel the love of the parents. So the parents could receive the love of the child. If you relate take the completeness, the lack of need and the abundance of love to an ultimate level, then you have some of the dynamics behind the scenes in Genesis chapters 1-3.

In the bible it is said that God created man in his image. It does
not say why as far as I know but I could be wrong on that. As far
as me personally and how I feel. I feel that we are on a need to know basis and that the Bible is "Gods Word" to us and that in it is things that God feels that we should know. The rest is not of importance.
Unfortunately for you being an atheist you will never know the answer to that question because you will not get the chance to
ask. Which is to bad. I find it interesting that you point out christians as opposed to any other religion. I would think you
being an Atheist would not care what religion and whose God
created for your answer. I see that as a sign of hope that you
are leaning towards Christ. If you want to know if God is real
pray that he reveals the truth and the way and he will answer you.

Jehovah God created in order to share the love with others. He created the being we know as Jesus to share with him in creating all other things and he created heaven for angels and earth for man. The unfortunate situation on earth now is a result of the poor choice that the first man, Adam, made and will soon be corrected so that man can experience true happiness on earth the way God intended for it to be in the beginning.

First, I'm a Catholic, thus a Christian, so I guess that allows me to "answer" this question........Second, I don't know if you ask this to be insulting, but personally I could care less whether you believe or not, I don't judge others by religion, (Or lack of), race, creed or color, it's the person INSIDE that counts. I'll respect what you've chosen for your life IF you'll try to respect the choices others make, after all, isn't THAT what life really is, just a series of choices?

Well I'm a Christian. I truly believe in my own heart that God created humans to be not only his servants but also to be his children and his friends in Love. What we fail to realize that we can Never have that ultimate love if we don't have him! Jesus came to build the bridge back to God that was lost by the fall of Adam. We all have a purpose in life and we need to carry out that purpose. And who else would know that purpose than Our Creator!

properly, . . . earlier introduction there turned right into a "curtain of chaos." God created user-friendly (and then each and every little thing else) to stability out the "chaos." the genuine question is, the position were the dinosaurs interior the introduction delusion, hmmmm? I genuinely have not began to work out a Christian answer that one with no need at a loss for words and forgetting the question.

No one can really know "why". He simply chose to do it.
My own answer (not Gods) is rooted in 1st John, Chapter 4, verse 16. Where is says "God is Love".
Love's greatest joy is when it, love, is returned. A reciprocal love from God to you and from you to God. He is love and desired to have his creation return that love of their own free will.
If you have ever been "in love" and had the on you love turn away from you, you know the hurt of rejection.
If you have ever been "in love" and had the one you love reach out to you and not only accept you love, but offer their own back. You know God's purpose here.
On the other hand, God is not us. Not Human, not needy like us. So my answer is pretty shallow from God's prospective, but I like it.
In the mean time I can accept that in spite of all the fine sounding argument against God's existence, desires, purpose, Why Jesus etc. God is who he says, has done what he says. We won't have all the answers till we see heaven. But enough can be known to make an informed decision for Gods existence, Jesus being who he said he was. His death and resurrection being the sole reason we have access the Father or heaven at all.
In the mean time, God bless you and your pursuit of the truth.

Well I think it is because nothing is boring. I mean he need ed someone to talk to so he created man, well not before making the animals but they were in preparation for man. Then he made woman for man. I think you may think of it in tearms similare to why an artist creates that is a fairly good analogy I think. Should I go on more I could you know.

If you are an atheist why do you even concern yourself with such a godly question?
I am Roman Catholic and I sincerely doubt your atheism.
My God created so that people like you could ask questions of people like me.
Don't be so silly. You will probably ignore what ever anyone has to say.
Real atheists don't concern themselves with the answer's of believers.
