Beautiful cars, but 1976 was not a great year for the 911.
Check out the links below for more info.
The 2.7 liter engine in the 4th generation cars was a bored-out 2.0 liter prone to overheating.
The 5th generation cars from 1978 on with the 3.0 engine are better, and also have galvanized bodys that won't rust like the earlier 911's.
Otherwise look for a 1976 912E as a good reliable starter Porsche.
If you must have a '76 911, though, don't expect air conditioning to work very well and do not use the AC in city traffic with the unmodified 2.7 or you'll very likely overheat it and ruin it; a common problem.

Well now remember that, that model is basiclly a really nice VW., They are notorious for oil leaks, and loss of compression, and the carburation wasn't that great either. Give this car a serious look over before you put up the money.
