You are in true love when you can tell your partner anything about you without being scared that he/she will leave you. When you consider them not only your lover, but your best friend also. When you don't even have the interest of looking at the opposite sex anymore. When you can see yourself with this other person growing old together.

Well for me it was just in the moment.
I recently went home for 2 weeks. I'm in the Army and I'm in Iraq right now. I went home to visit with my family and friends. I went to see a good friend of mine whom I went to school with. I've known her for seven years. When I say her she didn't recognize me at first. We haven't seen each other in about a year and I haven't talked to her for about six months. When she didn't recognize me she was upset. I tried to make it up to her by apologizing and possibly going out to hang out. She didn't want any of that. The only thing I thought of I did. I held her in my arms and kissed her. I told her I loved her. I meant those words and she knows it. I've always have, but I was too scared to say anything. seven years I wanted and it turned out she waited that long too. I would say this is love. Just the fact that we loved each other for that long and even thought of each other. Longing to be that person. I believe it's love and I'm glad it happened.
Don't know if it answers your question, but I hope I helped

Ultimately it doesn't matter, as long as your happy and your partner is happy who cares if someone wants to call it fake or true or pretty pretty gumdrop with sprinkles on it love.
It doesn't matter.
