Well, with the last elections, a vote for an independent party WAS a vote for republicans.

Bush was ahead, and the independent had no chance, thus a vote for independents equated to a vote not for gore, which meant a vote for bush.

Hence, one line of reasoning.

however, correctly, you are not one.

But republicans have some good ideas, they just lack any sense of right or wrong and more importantly, the idea that the people are in charge.

Of course, the same could be said for both democrats and republicans.

Better than being called a Democrat. The majority of Independents were Repubs the past prez election.

As an Independent in this country you get called lots of things, Republican is one of the nicer ones. I've been called everything from commie to redneck depending on the context. Get a thicker skin or join a larger political group to hang with.

An independant is often a wolf in sheep's clothing.
Joe Lieberman is running as an independent 'democrat'. Guess who most of his voters are? Yup. Republicans. Independant, my ****. Democrat? Please. I would never call you one way or the other, but pardon me for being a bit skeptical of those calling themselves 'independant'.

Independents are just that: independent. They are no more Republican than Democrat and I see no reason why anyone would call you a Republican.
