Go to your Chamber of Commerce and get a list of non-profit organizations in your neighborhood. Every one of them could use help, and all of them depend on volunteers. Pick one or several and spend time getting to know them. Investing in your community is never a bad investment. The best community service always starts at home, and can grow into a lifelong endeavor.

Go to Africa and try to help one of the many problems they have there. I know some people who are trying to get women community centers going so that the women can feel more empowered. Someone else is trying to plant trees since they dont have a lot, and that would help with the environment. Africa's a great place to go for community service.

wow. I did a search on this and it appears there is alot of opportunity to volunteer abroad. And unlike the Peace Corps, it appears you don't always need a four year degree. You can even be disabled. Here are a few interesting links:

meals on wheels where you bring the elderly there food ,or you can help the soup kitchens battered women's places or you can help sort out stuff at the receiving center at Salvation Army,community service check with your area on picking up garbage adopt a highway in your name and keep it clean on adopt a highway on the sign there is a 1-800 number you can call.or you can look in the phone book for more ideas

U can take bible and read it and start Preaching Gospel to the people who are lost in the Sin.... that is the best part in ur life.. God will sure Honour for tht..... 1st are u saved and ready to accept JEsus....

The Living Word says that if we confess with our mouth that Jesus Christ is the Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, then we will be saved. Accordingly, I rely totally on Your word Lord. Create in me a clean heart and restore to me, the joy of Your salvation. Save and justify me by Your divine grace because it is by Your grace that we are saved through faith and not from ourselves, and it is a gift from You alone. Thank You Father for redeeming me with Your most precious blood which You shed for me on the cross of Calvary. I thank You a million times Father, for transforming my life according to Your Word that "if anyone be in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has gone, the new has come!" I thank You and praise You Lord.

volunteer in hospitals, nursing homes and senior centers because there is never enough help in these places. also homeless shelters need some help as well--people only seem to care about the shelters at Christmas time but they need help year round

that's funny, what infraction caused this? I'm sure you are damned luck to have gotten community service. Maybe you could go to the hospital and see what crack does to people.

Volunteer to read to and teach reading skills to young children to foster an interest in reading. Kids who read do way better in school.
