Oh my goodness... things brings back memories! LOL!

When I was a teenager many many years ago in the late 70s, early 80s, I babysat all the time. And as soon as it got dark, my boyfriend would come visit me and we'd stand outside and make out as soon as the kids went to sleep. Wow, those were the days.

Now I'm a mom and I MIGHT have a problem with that if I wasn't sure about the responsibility level of the babysitter. If I knew the teen well enough to know that my son's welfare comes first, regardless what she's doing (homework, chatting on the phone or making out with the boyfriend), I'd probably let her have him come over IF it's okay with her parents.

If I DIDN'T know the teen very well (was referred but never used her, for example), I don't think I'd be comfortable letting her have her boyfriend come over.

Remember, when you're babysitting, your FIRST priority is to keep the child safe. You really have no other priorities. So if you are sure you can make out with your crush AND still keep an ear open for the children AND be able to drop him like a bad habit when the children need you, you can take a chance.

However, I'd be upset if my babysitter didn't even ASK if she could have others over while babysitting. Keep that in mind as well... it's not your house so their rules apply.

Have fun!

It depends whether or not you want the kids parents to think of you differently. If everyone considers you to be a responsible person then you should not make out with him. This could change every ones mind about you , you may never babysit again if you get caught. It also depends on whether the people who hired you told you not to have any one there. Remember the trust you with their children.

No. The parents aren't paying you to ignore their children and makeout with your boyfriend. Even though the kids are asleep, you have a responsibility to give them your full attention. That's what you're getting paid for. If I came home and found the sitter making out, or her boyfriend even present, she would never work for me again and I'd probably talk to her parents about it.

No. Not if you want to be asked to babysit again.

If I EVER found out that a sitter made out while watching my kid, she'd be done. End of discussion. I probably wouldn't even pay her for that night.

If you have to come on here and ask strangers if what you're about to do is wrong, that should be a really, really big clue!!
