It is early, but still likely. They can start teething very early, and then have it go away and come back. Motrin is the best relief in terms of drugs, it is just all around better for mouth pain. Other than that, a cold washcloth, I used to wet them then freeze them. My kids didn't use teething rings either. There isn't much you can do, stay away from teething biscuits, they are full of sugar, bad for new teeth. Just hang on, teething isn't fun for anyone, but it does pass.

No, it is not too early for teething.
Tylenol and motrin are the same pain reliever, just a different name.
You really should'nt give her a pain reliever unless she has a fever. Try using baby orajel or anbesol on her gums to help with the pain. Drooling is normal and will continue until most of her teeth are in. Be patient it will end.

she could very well be teething at 4 months... some suggestions I used with my kids are: cool wet washcloth, or a freeze pop...frozen but unopened. You may notice that she runs a low fever and possibly develops a diaper rash... this is due to the change in the acidity of her saliva while teething. If you have any concerns, call your pediatrician or a local nurse hotline.

Try giving her a cold wet washcloth to chew on. A lot of babies like this, and it catches the drool.

This may sound weird...but when my son was teething we got through it using frozen strawberries, of course you have to sit there and hold the strawberries, but it works. Its frozen, so it numbs the gums and the little seeds help break the tooth through. Its healthy, they love the taste, and it helps!!! Atleast it did for us. Best of luck to you
