Maybe you are washing too often - or using too much force.
There could be detergent residue in yoru washcloth that's irritating you.
Try a mild soap like L'Occitane (milk soap) it's very soothing. You could also try an oatmeal soap.
Don't use harsh or deodorant soaps.
See a Dermatologist if the problem continues.

There are certain soaps that you can have an allergic reaction too, and if you do, quit using it. I use to use dove soap on my face and it would look like I had sunburn, or windburn because it would get sore and red. I finally figured it was the soap and once I quit using it, my skin cleared up. Your face is more sensitive, than the rest of your body, so you must watch what you use. I have found a soap, that is mild and very good for my skin called, Neolia. It is made with 100% Italian extra virgin olive oil, and aloe vera. I have had bad skin all my life until I discovered this, and I found it at an HEB grocery store. Someone at work was telling me how good olive oil is for your skin, so when I found this soap, I took it home, and Ive been using it ever since! If you cant find it where you live, get on the neolia website!

You can be allergic to an ingredient in the soap. Sulfa is the most common ingredient in soap and the most common allergy as well. However if your scrubbing your face to much you may have a compulsive disorder and should seek help and scrubbing to much can cause damage to your pores. The best thing to do is try using an oatmeal soap like Aveeno and maybe scrubbing a little less. If that fixes the trouble thats great. If not, See your DR

It sounds like your face is burning because of the scrubbing. You most definitely can be allergic to soaps and soap products. I know because I have had reactions myself. You really should not use regular soap on your face. They do sell mild facial cleansers. You can try something like Cetaphil which is very mild and is good for people with soap sensitivities. Use it twice a day (that's all you really need to do) in the morning and before bedtime. As for scrubbing... you should exfoliate once or twice a week. You can use several different products... they do sell ones that are not too harsh for sensitive skin. Scrubbing too hard with regular wash cloths or sponges might irritate and even scar your skin. Best thing to do is see your family doctor and have him/her refer you to either an allergist or dermatologist or both... just for a consultation for a recommendation. Your doctor should be able to give you one as well. Good luck.

Yes. Use a makeup remover cream for sensitive skins and don't scrub with a rag ( unecessary). Also apply mosturizer after you wash. You should only need to wash your face 2-3 times a day. More than that is a compulsion unless you are working in the mining industry or something ( - :

Yes you could be. But I'll tell you not to scrub so hard in the future. You might have just dried out your skin by scrubbing, and that could be why you were burning.
Well, you could use the soap again, more gently next time. If you are still burning, you could be allergic.

You could have scrubbed too hard, or you could be allergic to the soap. Most soaps are too harsh for your face anyway. Over washing your face is not good for you either. If you are trying to combat acne, you could be causing more harm than good by over-washing.

It could be that you have scrub too hard.. Did you use a new soap? if you did then it could also be the soap. I hope you used a soap made for cleaning your face and not regular body soap. Body soap can cause you face to become very dry and irritated.

Yes, you can definitely be allergic to perfumes, dyes, etc., in soaps. I suggest you try a soap for sensitive skin, and don't scrub as hard. Your skin needs to recover.
If it takes more than a week for it to get better, or if it doesn't get better at all, you might want to contact your doctor.
Good luck.

Yes, you could be allergic, or you can be using something to harsh for your skin. Try not to scrub so hard, or switch to a gentle cleanser instead. If it's an actual scrub you're using with granules of something in it, you should only use that once-twice a week anyways so maybe you're using it too much.
