My ex and I have remained really close after we broke up when I moved away for college. He calls me all the time..comes to visit..and really shows he cares about me and still loves me. I recently found out he has a new girl...and told him I cant talk to him anymore. He said he loved me and wants to be with me..but I am just so young (i am seven years younger) and he wants me to enjoy college and date other men. Im so emotionally torn...i still deeply love him. He said he would call me this weekend but never did...do yuou think he is feelings guiltly or scared because I am in town where his new girl lives? I know he will call me when I am back at schoool..like in one week...because he never goes more than two weeks without calling. Waht should I do? Can he really still love me and hope to get back with me after college? Our love is truely still passionate both ways and that is a definite. He told me he thinks about me all the time and his love for me has been his biggest problem.

I would believe he was being sweet and looking out for you if he didn't have a new girl on the side... or is it you who is on the side now? Sounds to me like this guy has set it up so that he has two girlfriends at the same time. He's got the new girl, and he's stringing you along.
Is he cheating on this other girl, essentially, by having these deep loving talks with you? Would you want to be with him if he did this - he could easily do it to you as well.
I would take his advice - enjoy other men while you are in college. He's at least right on that point. You need to have other relationships to figure out what you want in a significant other - even if you think he's perfect for you now, I guarentee you will find traits in other people which will make you view everything in a whole new way. I would take your own advice as well - don't talk to him anymore, not for a while at least. You will get over him eventually, and if you two are made for each other, it will be the case after you are done with college as well.

Sounds to me like he cares for you but wants to do what's best for you in regards to your schooling. Do you first sweetheart. Get your education. If this love is for real, nothing can keep you two apart. If you can show him that you're mature enough to accomplish your own goals, he'll know you can handle a mature relationship. Don't push but don't just shut him out either. I'm sure he'll see you're worth waiting for. Good luck!

unfortunately, it sounds like he's playing you. of course he shows that he loves you, it's all part of the game everything he does. he'll do whatever it takes to make you believe he still loves you because he wants to keep you on the back burner.

A real man does not play games, is not scared and does not speak drivel.
Find someone else.
