God was created by man to explain the things that he could not explain, like origins of life and such. Man also loves to have someone or something protecting him and to know that this isn't all we have here, that there is a bigger reason for life.

God was, is, and always will be. God is eternal, not begotten. I'm not sure of the right bible verses or the words but that basically sums it up. God just is. God didn't come from anywhere. However if you believe , some day you can ask that God that question. I believe that
we are on a need to know basis and that is not an answer that we
need to know.

We don't know. We just know He was here at the beginning of the Creation of Earth and man.
If we knew the answer to this question, we would probably know all about God, everything about heaven, and every other hidden mystery. There would really be no reason for us. God already has the angels with Him. He wanted to create us in His image (with a part that can live forever, our souls) and with a freewill so that we could choose to love Him.
As a step parent I can understand that when a child can decide whether to love you, or honor you, or obey you, it means so much when they choose to do it, rather than when the natural parent makes them buy you birthday cards, obey you, treat you right, etc. Your heart just melts when they do it because they love you and really mean it.

This is going to sound weird but here goes. God is a figment of faith. Human belief in whichever god suits them makes that god real. Therefore the Greek Gods did exist at one time, the Norse gods too. The Christian God is the same way. What happens is that different Gods come and go as belief is supported in them. Denial means destruction, belief means power. A god comes from our faith. Is made real by our faith. Much like our science is. In no way could there ever be the types of things we use now, but there are. Because Humans believed and our belief made them possible and therefore real. Faster than Light Travel is impossible, but if we keep believing that it will be possible it will someday be just that. Just like time travel. It's not possible. The past is set in stone and the future hasn't happened yet. Someday though if humans keep believeing someone will find a way to make it possible. I hope this sort of answers what you asked, and if it didn't I don't know what will.

God is just another fake creation by man.
Humanity has created many Gods, for example – Gods of Olympus, Ancient Egypt, Babylon and so on. Most of us are atheists about most Gods humanity has created, except the latest craze, the current God in the Bible. Learned atheists have also rejected this version of a God, but some hard-core believers still hang on, presumably until a better image of God is created by man.
Faith in God seems to be nothing more than humans attempting to run away from reality, an excuse to avoid thinking and evaluating evidence. Faith is just an emotional escape and really just a substitute for opening your eyes to reason.
Believers talk about God creating man in his own image. It’s in the Bible so it’s fact – get a grip, get real. The facts suggest the exact opposite. Man created God in his own image. I’m sure humanity will disregard this God, as they have disregarded all previous Gods, it’s just a matter of time before humanity creates another God that better serves their emotions and image.

He is infinite. People tell me that is not an answer...but just look at infinity...it is all around you.
- Start counting at one, and count to the last number...can;t do it, can you? It's infinite.
- Find the smallest thing there is...even scientists are looking at quarks now and think there is smaller...how much, likely infinite.
- Look at the stars on a starry nght. How many, how far can you travel in the darkness of space...infinite so far.
Infinity is all around, why can't the concept of a God that is the beginning and the end, the alpha and the omega, so hard to fathom?

If u are just passing the time then go on searching him and i am sure that u will not find him. If u are serious then go on meditating and u will know one day that u are god nobody else. He did not come from anywhere. He does not reside in u but he is u only once u break the barrier which is being created by earthly desires.

Why do you want to beat yourself up trying to understand the
ununderstandable? Maybe God came from something. But as He told Moses, "I AM". God was the first realization. Awareness. Knowing that He existed. Without awareness of what is something. We would have no awareness of what nothing is.
It's mostly philosophical.(Thinking, considering). But we live in the HERE AND NOW.
