We have two big dogs, one of them, we bought as a baby and trained her not to sleep on the bed. The other, we adopted as an adult, and she is so used to sleeping on the bed that we can't get her off- trust me, we've tried everything, so we gave up. She hogs all the covers and lies on my feet, but we love her. Do your dogs sleep in the bed with you?

LOL...Welcome to my world. We have three LARGE Labs, and trust me you got it kinda easy. I have to fight with my dogs every night just to get in MY side. One thinks I'm his pillow, one THINKS he's my pillow and the other thinks I'm his bed. The wifey just sleeps fiiiiiiine. Until I throw them out of the room...then I'm sleeping on the sofa....Oh such sweet marriage. I'll swear she took my wedding ring cut in three and put it on the dogs.

Yup! Anywhere from one to four dogs have slept on my bed. Even with a king-sized bed they can find a way to stretch out & take over so much of it, that if I'm not careful, I'll find myself clinging to the edge. Most of the time they only come up for awhile, and only one or two will stay all night.

It means spreading an extra cover sheet where they'll lay, and washing the bedding more frequently, but it's worth it.

One of my big dogs sometimes sleeps with his head on the pillow, like a human.

I've taken care of Dalmatians while house-sitting, and had four sleep with me. They burrowed under the sheets & slept snugged against my legs. Amazing that they can breathe under the covers like that. Their fur is wonderfully silky soft, so they make the best & warmest blanket imaginable. :)

All is right with the world when you have a doggy snoozing near you on the bed!

My 2 little dogs sleep up on the bed. My labX used to but hubby moves too much in his sleep and she kept getting kicked off (while he was sleeping) so now she sleeps on the floor on a nice big comfy dog bed right next to my side of the bed and she's happy :o)

Yes, I own a full blooded American Staffordshire Bull Terrier and she sleep in the bed with me every night, If shes not laying right next to me I can't even get to sleep until she is next to me... I'm so used to sleeping with my dog, that if she even gets out of the bed at night I automaticly wake up. Plus its real nice in the winter time, I never have to worry about getting cold.... I LOVE my Dog!!!!

Yes. I have a dalmatian that sleeps with us. Got him a week after losing our 1st dal. He was 9 months old. 1st time in the bedroom, he jumped on the bed. Should have stopped it then, but we were so happy to have him, we let him stay on the bed. Most of the time he sleeps with my 15 year old son. I don't sleep well at all with him in the bed because he stays right up next to me.

My dog used to sleep in the bed occasionally, but now he's old and can't jump up as he did when he was a puppy.

You can always try closing the door and shutting your dog out of the bedroom you know.

I have three dogs, a collie, a pitbull/boxer mix, and a pit bull and all three of them sleep in my bed. Not at the same time, my collie doesn't like to be touched when she's sleeping so she usually sleeps under the bed, the pit/boxer mix sleeps at the foot sometimes and the pit always sleeps in the bed.

Yes. I have 2 Rat Terriers and I wouldn't have it any other way.
They keep my feet warm and the covers on a cold night. One
sleeps next to my husband and the other next to me. We now have
a 2 year old that climbs into bed sometimes in the middle of the night so it has gotten very interesting!

When I first got my Pit bull almost 4 years ago. I would let her sleep in the bed with me. Then I found out I was going to have a baby. But I continued to let her stay in the bed. When the baby started kicking she wouldn't let my husband near me in the bed. After I had the baby I kicked her out and she now sleeps in the guest bed. She doesn't have to have someone in bed with her but she likes her bed, pillows, and blankets.

Only my alpha male sleeps with me; it's his right as the status holder here but of course he knows if I say down, there is no argument and he bounds off the bed. The others lie on the floor around the bed. They make great winter heaters though! :D

Actually, my golden retriever loves to be in the bed with me if I'm reading late at night, but as soon as I turn out the light he lays on the floor by the bed. I never trained him to do this, it's just what he prefers.
