If you beleive in life after death as so commonly depicted today --
Examples: light, peace, someone there to meet you...all the descriptions that are commonly given.--
HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN THE ABSENCE OF THIS DESCRIPTION IN THE BIBLE?
In the Bible there are numerous experiences told about people that were brought back to life and they didn't talk about any of this.
This seems to be a fairly recent phenomenen. Could this be one of Satan's ploys to mess us up?
Serious answers only, please.

We must believe true, but we must also guard against deception from all directions.
So you see I think it does matter that we understand it. If my Grandmother seemed to be standing there telling me I should believe something..... I had better know if that is something God would do or if it is from Satan.

I don't think Satan is beyond imitating God. Afterall isn't that envy and jealousy what got him kicked out of heaven?
We are told he would fool even the elect.....

things not written in the Bible and YET preached by some pple are things of the devil. for example:
1) Sunday worship - can we find a single text of God ordering worship on sunday? no. the devil tried to substituted God's day (Sabbath) for sunday - the day of pagan worship of the sun.
2) Christmas - does the Bible command celebration of Christ's DOB? no - in fact Jesus didn't born on December. and when Jesus was born there was no snow o santa.
3) Easter - the Bible didn't mention anything about easter, the eggs etc.
so when you want to know what is good and bad, look at the only RIGHT< TRUTHFUL book, the Bible.

I'm not sure if I am understanding you correctly. Are you saying that
when Jesus brought someone back from the dead, the bible didn't
talk about the person's personal experience when they came back
like how they felt etc? Alot of things that Jesus did were not for
that purpose. I guess my understanding was It was to show who
he is and the persons faith in him. It wasn't about him explaining through them what eternal life would be like. That is why their
is the book of Revelations and other references in the bible as to what happens when you die. I think the bible is God's word and it is kind of on a need to know basis. Not everything is answered in the bible. God wants you to have faith in him and a "free will"
to decide and come to him yourself. It tells you what you need to
know to get to heaven. It doesn't answer every question but it is not intended to either. As far as people today that talk of experiences. I believe that things happen to people. However when you mention satan I do believe that some of those experiences are his doing. Like when someone sees a psychic and everything happens just as they said. I believe psychics get
their "knowledge" from satan. I do believe in Angels however and
that you could be dying from an accident or in a coma, recover,
and have had a glimpse of heaven. It is hard to say because we
just don't know all the answers. I let my conscience guide me.
That is what God gave me to know how to tell right from wrong.
I just believe and trust in God and his word and pray that he
keeps me on the right track. I try not to judge other people's
experiences either way. I hope I have answered at least part of
your question.

Well, when someone actually has a near-death experience, they are probably wise to keep the experience to themselves unless prompted by the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit to share it with others. I was going to say that Stephen in the the New Testament (Acts 7:54-60) had something similar to a near-death experience, only I think it was a somewhat different kind of vision in that he did not die completely and then come back - it just happened before he was stoned to death. You also have to realize that technology today is so different from what existed even a century ago - that people today can be resuscitated and revived more often than not, so the possibility of having a near-death experience is more likely than ever before. My father had one last year, but until he is able to write the experience, I am not sharing too many details. Remember anything that leads us to believe in Jesus Christ and God and to learn and grow and to be kind to others is from God. Satan would be more likely to claim that nothing exists after this life, so near-death experiences would be in direct opposition to Satan's goals.

Very tough, but good question. I do not believe in near death or life after death experiences. I believe once you die on earth, your body ceases to exist, and your soul moves on to Heaven, I don't believe God lets us get close enough to get a taste only to throw us back to earth. I think near death experiences and reincarnation are all popular themes in today's culture that are used to make us feel better about death, There are tons of movies about "the life beyond" death. In Acts 7:56 we are told that Stephen was given a glimpse of heaven before he was stoned to death. BUT this happened BEFORE Stephen died, not after his death, it was encouragement that heaven was waiting for him. I believe satan could try to duplicate positive experiences for unbelievers (like Stephens experience) so that people would believe that their relationship with Jesus has no bearing on where we spend eternity. There is no reliable information from anyone who has claimed to experience near death experiences. God alone knows what lies on the other side of the veil. And that is why we can do no better than study what the bible has to say about Heaven.

Well, we also don't really know if they talked about it or not. Perhaps Bible writiers were oblivious to any of this, or thought it unimportant. A thought for what it's worth--there were no atheists at the time, so was there a real need to share life after death stories to make a point to anyone either?
I'm not personally sure to make of these stories, nor do I try to get too wrapped up them. They don't seem to shake my faith any, at least--but I'd never use them to try and support it either. As you iinferred, Satan is a schemer...

I dont know if that is answering your question, but I heard that they say that the NDE are solely produced by some type of thing we have in our bodies, like endorphine or adrenaline, so they're not really NDE, just physical phenomenons, and I guess thats also why different people tell different stories: because they all have different beliefs. So actually none of them really have been "on the other side".
Maybe there's no reference in the bible because the people in the bible really have been dead, I mean dead for a very long time, and not just some moments, so those are kind of two different things.

We do not have an immortal soul in us. We as a complete being are a living soul. When we die, we become non existent, we wait in death which Jesus likened to sleep, until the time when Jehovah God through Jesus Christ His son will resurrect us back to life on a paradise earth. God will create a new body for us and return the essence of us, our personality, our thought, and mannerisms, excluding anything bad, to our new bodies. How loving of Jesus would it have been if he resurrected Lazurus back to life by bringing his soul back into his body from heaven just to suffer another death. Jesus resurrected Lazurus back to life so that he could go to heaven by exercising faith in Jesus' ransom sacrifice which had not happened yet and to display the power of God and show what he would do in the future for all mankind who where in their memorial tombs.

I wrote a thesis on this in college. That our beliefs are based on
thousands of years of human experience. Not just a few books.
People have been seeing things, experiencing out -of -body
states, (2 Corinthians 12), having near-death experiences for
centuries. That's where the saying, "The Light at the end of the tunnel", comes from. Not from trains in tunnels.
What is really beyond understanding. Is how the Devil has
confused people so bad, that they deny and condemn things
that prove their own beliefs.

these " experiences" of life after death or near death experiences are bogus how can you have a real near death experience dead is dead 100% no coming back to life don't worry bout the bills nooooo more dead. and if your truly dead how can you tell someone what you saw if you ain't done seeing it.
Near death experiences are nothing but your minds body of dealing with a traumatic situation taking place to the body kinda like how your body shuts down non necessary limbs when exposed to extreme cold for to long so it can survive.
