Like many others have said, the Japanese Self Defense Force is one of the most advanced, well equiped, professional, and funded militaries in the world. Their constitution formed after the Second World War only promised the end to military agression. Being that the whole nation was occupied by the US though, they were encouraged to become the bastion of capitalist democracy at the start of the Cold War. Basicly, the occupiers figured that the Soviets would come as soon as they pulled out so they encouraged Japan to develop the resources they needed to make them sorry they ever tried. In the years since those two nations have become some of the best friends the world has. Hell, they're the only people outside of North America that play baseball. Doesn't that say something to you?

Why would the US attack Japan...to take over the imported car market? Japan owns half of the industries in the US. Almost every imported car has a auto-plant somewhere in the US or Canada. Look at the balance of trade and records of foreign ownership. The US could be stopped dead in it's tracks just with trade embargo's by Japan. Japan doesn't need an army.

Base on your theory, I assume that you are saying that it will be a full scale attack, but have you assert what would the other Asia power react to the attacks, remember that India, China, are some of the closest allies and it troops and weapon are a lot more than America.
If they dun help Japan, Japanese are proud people and they are very inventive and could come up with new gadgets, beside that they still have their Bushido code, way of the warriors. and I strongly believe that every inch of Japan soil will be filled with American Blood.
It is with this reason and though that Atomic Bombs was drop in Japan during WW2, which help to stop the war if not the estimated loss for invading Japan would have results in Millions of death.
Saipan was a small island then, but it took 20 thousand American life's to obtain a foothold and more troops to secured it.
You can bomb Japan and destroy everything, but once you landed I bet that the Japanese will fight with what they have in their procession, and defend their homeland and honour.
Their cultures are based on unity and honour and respects, and this is what built up Japan till today. Mutual respect is required to established long term relationships.

Japan is a great allie of the united states. The only one that would attack japan is china or North Korea. If N korea keeps its brinksmanship up Japan WILL have an active army and navy and it will have NUKES.

They have an army, Its just that in their Constitution they are not allowed to use it for anything but self defence. That was in the surrender bargain and part of what they had to give up after the war. I have worked with them in Israel and they are very perfectionist and professional . I'm glad they are a passive country now. I would think they could do some damage if they wish to

Truman's unique protection of the bombing became that it kept more desirable lives than were lost through the bombing. it quite is to assert: If we had fought the conflict through oftentimes used skill rather of bombing Japan into submission we'd want to have lost more desirable lives than the bombing fee. you may also discuss that Japan became no longer averse to utilising WMD and had spend a sturdy quantity of resourced attempting to enhance and perfect chemical guns in China - that line of wondering might want to help justify the want to end the conflict faster, rather than later. noticeably pondering the very undeniable actuality that Japan had released air balloons through the pacific encumbered with explosives - one even made it inland and blew up a church, killing a pastor and his pregnant spouse. imagine if that were comprehensive of mustard gas or something worse?

What an idiotic question. The US and Japan have one of the strongest alliances in the world. Maybe you should worry about how the US will protect itself from attacks from others.
When did it become so popular to hate your own country?
The US isn't perfect but it is ours and we should love it and try to make it a better place instead of trashing it.
