Heck no. If you have ever seen Grease with John Travolta and Olivia Newton John. He totally did the same thing for the sake of having a rep as babe magnet and that he can get any girl he wants. But in the movie John Travolta's character really cared for his girl. But in the real world guys just do that to give themselves a better rep and don't care about the girl's feelings at all.

This question could have two responses. First ask yourselfis this a guy who would make up a lie to try to make himself look good or is he a guy who wants to make it seem like you guys had something that special. Is he the kind of guy who is a show off or a dreamer. And whatever yuor reponse is it will tell you what his intentions were in lying

Not necessarily. Sounds like he is just trying to make himself look like a man on campus. Untrue boasting is common among boys, teenagers, young men and older men. LOL

It means he's a normal guy. Doesn't mean anything what the others think, so, if you like him, put him to the test.

He did it for his ego, and he may like you. Still if he likes to strech the truth I would stay away because technically that is lying.

Either: a) he likes you or b) he's trying to escalate his own desirablilty by making things up about how people want him. Just my opinion.

He wants to be Hero - but you're the victim of his stupidity.
You can think whatever you want - for me is joke of any relationship to be.

It sounds that way. Whether or not you want him is more important though. And maybe you have repressed the memory also. (doubtfully)
