thing. this is stupid i know, but i am not sure what it is that makes it. i get mouth ulcers a LOT and every once in a while, my taste buds swell up, along with my throat and my whole mouth hurts. anyone have this prob? it happens sometimes when i eat onions, tomatoes, or citrus fruit, but other times it doesn't.

Sounds like food allergy. You should get tested. Otherwise, where have you had that tongue lately....

Are you on any kind of medication? It could be a side effect of that.
If not it sounds like you might have some underlying condition that is causing that. Get a check up and tell your doctor about your symptoms.
It could be allergies the swelling is dangerous if it's that...try taking some antihistamines next time that happens and see if it goes down...you'll know it's an allergic reaction if so....do get seen though.
