How did Paris Hilton get a credit card when you need a credit history to get one?

You don't need a credit history to get a credit card. I mean think about it, how are you going to establish credit if you don't have some type of card? All you need is a good job. Whether you know it or not, Paris Hilton earns her own money through modeling and other venues. Look, I'm not her biggest fan either, but I sure as h.e.l.l. don't spend one minute of my day worrying about why she has credit cards and others don't. Who friggin' cares!

Millionaires have no trouble getting credit cards. Why would a credit card company require proof of a credit history for an applicant who shows a NET WORTH of over $10m?

Her family's bank account is a great credit history to start with. Credit cards would be stupid to deny her credit.

Don't you think that her family has a credit history throughout the world? So, in effect, they are giving her credit based on her family's history and their knowledge that she has money of her own (which she obviously spends quite a bit of) and will get more more of her own always.

One of the things they look at in a credit rating is how much money you have in the bank, and for how long. She almost certainly has scads of moola; the credit companies would be thrilled to give her a card.
